I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Studio in Vilnius, 502 on Giedraičių gatvė, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this little spot in Snipiskes. The neighborhood isn’t exactly touristy (which turned out to be a good thing), and from the outside, it’s pretty understated. But you know what? Sometimes those unassuming places surprise you the most.

The studio itself is exactly what you’d want if you’re the type who actually uses a place rather than just crashes there. It’s compact but smartly laid out – I mean, whoever designed this clearly understood that you need more than just a bed and a bathroom shoved together. The kitchen setup is surprisingly functional for a studio, and honestly, after staying in places where the “kitchenette” is basically a hotplate balanced on a dresser, this was refreshing. What really got me was the attention to small details that most places skip – decent lighting (not those harsh overhead bulbs that make everything look like a hospital), proper blackout options for the windows, and enough outlets where you actually need them. The 9.6 rating starts making sense once you’re there for a day or two.

Snipiskes itself grows on you pretty quickly. It’s definitely more residential than the Old Town circus, but that means you’re living like locals do – there’s a solid grocery store about a five-minute walk away, and the morning coffee crowd at the little café around the corner becomes familiar faces after a few days. The tram connections are actually better than I expected; you can get to the center without much fuss, but you’re far enough out that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. Parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the cathedral area either, though I’d still recommend asking about that when you book. The only minor thing – and this is really minor – is that the hot water takes a moment to get going in the morning, but honestly, that’s pretty standard for most places I’ve stayed in Vilnius. The whole setup just feels like someone put thought into what travelers actually need rather than what looks good in photos, which is probably why people keep rating it so highly.
