ShortStopStudent Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to ShortStopStudent on Studentų street, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical four-star hotel. The name gives it away, honestly — this place was clearly designed with students and young travelers in mind, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s some basic hostel. The building sits right in Zverynas, which is actually one of Vilnius‘s more charming neighborhoods, and I mean that in the best way possible. It’s got this relaxed, residential vibe that feels authentically Lithuanian rather than touristy.
The Zverynas Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in this part of town — you’re close enough to Old Town that you can walk there in about 15 minutes, but you’re also surrounded by local cafes and shops that most tourists never discover. Zverynas has this tree-lined, almost village-like feel despite being in the capital. You know what’s really nice? In the evenings, you’ll see locals walking their dogs and families heading to the nearby parks. It gives you a genuine taste of how people actually live here, not just the postcard version of Vilnius.
The Room Experience
My room was surprisingly well-appointed for what I expected from a student-oriented hotel. The design is modern and clean — think Scandinavian minimalism with some Eastern European touches. The bed was comfortable (which honestly surprised me), and there’s decent storage space if you’re staying for more than just a night or two. What really stood out was how quiet everything was, especially considering the location on a main street. The windows do a good job blocking out street noise, which you’ll appreciate if you’re a light sleeper like me.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast setup here is actually pretty solid — they offer both continental and buffet options, which gives you flexibility depending on whether you’re rushing out to catch a morning flight or planning to take your time. I went with the buffet most mornings and found a good mix of local and international options. The coffee is decent (not amazing, but definitely drinkable), and they usually have some Lithuanian specialties alongside the standard European breakfast fare. It’s the kind of spread that works whether you’re a backpacker or a business traveler.
Why Guests Love It
What makes ShortStopStudent work so well is that it strikes this perfect balance between affordability and comfort. The couples who stay here seem to really appreciate that balance — you’re getting four-star amenities without the stuffiness that sometimes comes with fancier hotels. The staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you have what you need, and there’s this relaxed atmosphere throughout the property. Plus, if you’re planning a romantic getaway, Zverynas gives you plenty of quiet spots for evening walks, and you’re still close enough to the action when you want it. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and that authenticity is exactly what makes it memorable.

Reviews of ShortStopStudent
An excellent stay with a superb host. – Louise from United Kingdom – August 15, 2025 (9/10)
We loved the self catering aspect we got there. The place was lovely and clean. The host was excellent and very attentive and was always available when we needed some guidance. The bed was comfy and the location was close to a big shopping mall that sold everything you could ever need.
What could be improved: Just missing a dust pan and another pan to cook in or maybe a frying pan.Geras kainos ir kokybės santykis, kartosiu. – Marius from Lithuania – July 29, 2025 (10/10)
Pusryčiai, kaip už tokią kainą, labai geri: kiaušiniai, užpilami makaronai, jogurtai, miusli, sultys… tobula. Švaru, tvarkinga, arti miesto centro. Kainos ir kokybės santykis geras.
Bad – Lajauskas from Lithuania – July 19, 2025 (1/10)
Gera vieta.
What could be improved: Nerekomenduoju.
A good base to explore the city – Darren from United Kingdom – July 7, 2025 (9/10)
The location and amenities
What could be improved: Hassle with no physical staff – deposit to stay and no physical way of paying city tax. Guess it’s a good idea to read the T’s and C’sGood – Lena from Russia – July 4, 2025 (7/10)
Идеальное расположение, в номере все новое, и даже был завтрак.
What could be improved: Все ок.Good for travelling on a budget and not planning to stay in the room much – Noah from United Kingdom – June 23, 2025 (7/10)
Close to the city, clean room, powerful shower
What could be improved: Could of done with more cooking stuff like a saucepan and more bowels, would be nice to have free wifi included as well and more towelsGood but questioning – Marko from Denmark – June 22, 2025 (8/10)
The location and the room. Was what i expected.
What could be improved: The communication with the host. Very odd communication. A few times afraid if all will be okay as the communication is iregular and unpredictable.Puikiai! – Inga from Lithuania – May 10, 2025 (10/10)
Švaru, tvarkinga, patogi lokacija, lengvi pusryčiai, viešnagei įpusėjus buvo pasuteirauta ar nieko netrūksta, klientui rodomas dėmesys džiugina. Pasigedau keptuvės ir lygintuvo, manau šeimininkai greitu laiku tuo pasirūpins 🙂
Wonderful – Daniel from Poland – May 8, 2025 (9/10)
Clean, easy to access and fast internet.
10/10 – Marius from Lithuania – April 19, 2025 (10/10)
Lengvai randama, arti miesto centras, yra daug vietos automobilio parkavimui. Puikiai 🙂
What could be improved: Viskas puikiai, sugrįšiu 🙂
