Mabre Residence Overview

You know what struck me first about Mabre Residence? It’s tucked right into this perfectly quiet corner of Vilnius Old Town on Maironio street, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy at all. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Cathedral Square, but the building itself has this understated elegance that feels more like staying at a sophisticated friend’s place than a typical hotel. The entrance is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it – just this discreet doorway that opens into a surprisingly spacious lobby with these gorgeous high ceilings and original architectural details that remind you you’re in a building with some serious history.

What really sets this place apart is how they’ve managed to blend modern comfort with the character of Old Town living. The rooms are spacious by European standards (honestly, after staying in some shoebox hotels in other historic city centers, this was refreshing), and they’ve kept elements like exposed brick walls and original hardwood floors while adding all the stuff you actually need – good Wi-Fi, proper lighting for reading, and bathrooms that don’t require you to be a contortionist. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood, too. When I asked about morning coffee options, they didn’t just point me toward the hotel restaurant but told me about this little café around the corner on Pilies street where locals grab their espresso before work. That kind of insider knowledge makes a difference.

Location-wise, you’re in the sweet spot of Old Town accessibility without the constant foot traffic that makes some streets feel like a theme park. Gediminas Avenue is a five-minute walk when you want the main shopping and restaurant scene, but Maironio itself stays relatively peaceful even during summer tourist season. Parking can be tricky – well, it’s Old Town, so that’s expected – but the hotel can arrange something if you’re driving. I’d honestly recommend just using the airport bus and walking everywhere once you’re there. The whole Old Town is compact enough that you’ll hit all the main sights on foot, and there’s something special about wandering these cobblestone streets early in the morning before the tour groups arrive. The 8.4 rating feels right for this place – it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but it nails the fundamentals while giving you a genuine sense of place that’s hard to find in a lot of four-star properties these days.

Reviews of Mabre Residence

  • Sometimes the small things make the big difference. The hotel forgot it – Hen from Israel – August 23, 2025 (7/10)

    The location is perfect.
Staff at the reception the first days was very friendly and helpful.

What could be improved: The staff, sometimes petfect sonetimes less. Depends the person.
I took a suite. Bedroom and living room.
In the living slept the daughters. My wife and me slept in the bedroom.
There is air conditioner in the livingroom but not in the bedroom. I can not understand it.
Unless one of the staff gave me the fan, i couldn't sleep at night. Thank god i had this guy.
The air conditioner sometimes works and sometimes not.they tried to fix it, but still…
They have not refeel the soap for the wole period we were there(Mon-Fri).
They have not renew us with toilets paper unless we asked them(Thu).
The staff at the restaurant (which is not belong to the hotel) is terrible. Very unfriendly.
    The breakfast is ok.not more.

  • Wonderful – Marek from Czech Republic – August 22, 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location and perfect view from windows.
We liked spatious presidential apartman and comfortable bed.
No problem wiht late check-in and friendly staff.

What could be improved: Small imperfections:
    – We had president apartman, but the bathroom has bad air exchange.
    – Breakfast is served in very small space, so it was crowded a bit.

  • Very Good – Yannick from Switzerland – August 18, 2025 (8/10)

The location is almost perfect for visiting Vilnius.
The place is peaceful. The restaurant is a super good steak house.

What could be improved: not worth the usual 4 stars. furniture a bit outdated.

  • It’s good, but not that good (for that price) – Jānis from Latvia – August 8, 2025 (8/10)

    Location

What could be improved: Overall, there is nothing wrong with the place, except that we had the feeling that it is marketed higher than it actually is.

  • Beautiful place to stay in the heart of Vilnius – Jj from United Kingdom – August 8, 2025 (9/10)

Great facilities and huge apartment – Presidential suite.

What could be improved: You have to pay for the spa and parking

  • Very Good – Olga from Poland – August 8, 2025 (8/10)

Localisation is super, everything is close but it’s very quiet inside; internal yard with breakfast/dinner tables is very atmospheric place, very relaxing to be in. We were in superior, so bathroom and sleeping room were spacious. Nice view to the street, 2 windows. Parking was just inside the yard, very convenient. Breakfast was good, several hot dishes and selection of cold ones, fruits and sweets included; coffee was quite good for the hotels’ ones.

What could be improved: All the interior needs renovation, it is “frozen” early 2000th 🙂 If you want to keep windows open (as we like) there is quite a lot of noise from the street, yard view would be much better. Conditioning is very noisy, old style, we were switching it on when we were not in the room only.

  • Quiet, relaxing and a nice place to come back to after work at the University. – T from United Kingdom – August 6, 2025 (9/10)

From checking in to the minute I left the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful – even teaching me a few basic words of Lithuanian. The hotel is old so only has stairs but I prefer that. The breakfast was ideal and had the right mix of things for every palate. The hotel is well placed for central Vilnius, everything is within walking distance, but is quiet and surrounded by beautiful old buildings. Thank you Mabre Residence

What could be improved: It was all exactly what I hoped for.

  • Wonderful – Andree from Belgium – August 4, 2025 (9/10)

We had a room on the ground floor, which was very easy to reach with a recently operated knee. We could park our car safely on the premise. We could have breakfast outside in the garden. We had one dinner at the hotel, which was OK.
We had another dinner at Le Travi in Uzipis republic – very good.

What could be improved: There was a lot if choice at breakfast, but don´t come late. Not everything was added later on.

  • Nice place and nice staff – Liane from United States – July 23, 2025 (8/10)

The property was overall nice and in a good location.

What could be improved: Breakfast not starting until 7:30 am.

  • A fine hotel in a quiet location and a superb restaurant. – Rodney from Canada – July 21, 2025 (9/10)

The residence is in a nice location. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard in front. The restaurant serves very good meals including a breakfast with a variety of items to choose from.
