Hotel Congress Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Hotel Congress feels like stepping into one of those perfectly preserved European buildings where history actually lives in the walls. This four-star property sits right on Vilniaus Street in the heart of the Old Town, and honestly — the location alone makes it worth considering. You’re literally surrounded by cobblestone streets and medieval architecture, but inside, everything feels refreshingly modern without trying too hard to be trendy. The hotel manages to balance historic charm with contemporary comfort in a way that feels natural rather than forced.

The Perfect Old Town Spot

I mean, you really can’t get more central than this in Vilnius. Cathedral Square is maybe a three-minute walk, and you’re close enough to everything that matters — the Gate of Dawn, all those little galleries tucked into courtyards, the best coffee shops. What I love is that couples seem to get it (they rate the location 9.3, which honestly makes sense), but it’s not just romantic — it’s practical. You can walk everywhere, and when your feet get tired from all that cobblestone wandering, you’re never far from home base. The neighborhood truly offers the best of what the Old Town has to offer.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this nice balance — not trying to be a castle, but definitely acknowledging where you are. The windows looked out onto the Old Town streets, and there’s something about falling asleep to the sound of footsteps on cobblestones that just works. Everything felt solid and well-maintained, which you appreciate more than you’d think when you’re dealing with a historic building. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in Europe), and the bathrooms are modern enough that you don’t feel like you’re roughing it. Each detail has been thoughtfully considered.

Food That Actually Delivers

You know what surprised me? The food here is genuinely good — not just hotel-good, but actually worth staying in for. The restaurant serves meals that locals would probably eat, which is always a good sign. Breakfast is this generous buffet situation with proper English options if you want them, but also vegetarian and gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts. I found myself looking forward to breakfast, which doesn’t happen often when I’m traveling. The culinary team clearly takes pride in what they offer.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something to be said for a place that gets repeat visitors — and this hotel definitely has that going for it. I think it’s because they’ve figured out the sweet spot between being in the thick of things and actually being able to relax. The parking situation is sorted (which is huge in Old Town), the staff knows what they’re doing, and everything just works seamlessly. It’s not flashy, but it’s the kind of place where you can base yourself for a few days and actually enjoy exploring Vilnius instead of worrying about where you’re staying. That’s the real measure of a great hotel.

Breakfast was amazing, big variety of goods. Very satisfied and a good value for your money.

  • Deniszest from Estonia (8/10)

    Location , room size

  • Milda from Luxembourg (9/10)

Central location by the Opera House, the Green Bridge and the Neris river is really very convenient and offering nice views from the window, if you get a room with the view, of course. Breakfast is still rather creative although coffee from the coffee machine could be better, the same applies to their orange juice.

  • Hugh from United Kingdom (9/10)

Breakfast was really excellent with a great selection of hot and cold food to suit every taste. I was given a free upgrade to a larger room and it was extremely spacious and comfortable with a great view. Staff were very accomodating.

I asked for a room with good view. The view was spectacular. A also liked the excepcional services from the front desk girls. They speak good English and helped me in everything i asked (for example: I asked to book a taxi, and the girl gave me first class treatment). Location was also perfect.
