HOMESTAY ,,Aurora,, Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to HOMESTAY Aurora on Bukčių Street, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The address threw me off a bit since Lazdynai is one of those Soviet-era residential districts that doesn’t exactly scream “tourist destination,” but you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made this place special.
The thing about staying in Lazdynai is you’re actually living like a local Vilnian, not just passing through. Aurora sits tucked into this quiet residential block where you’ll hear kids playing in courtyards rather than tour buses rumbling by at dawn. The apartment itself feels genuinely homey – I mean, it’s called a homestay for a reason, right? The owner clearly put thought into making it comfortable rather than just Instagram-worthy. The kitchen actually has proper cooking equipment (not just a sad little kettle), and there’s this cozy living area where you can spread out your maps and plan your day without feeling cramped. Sure, it’s a 3-star setup, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or room service, but honestly the 7.7 rating makes perfect sense once you settle in.
What really won me over was the location, though it might not be obvious at first glance. You’re about a 15-minute bus ride from Old Town – and I actually enjoyed those rides because you get to see how regular Vilnius works, with locals heading to work and students chatting in Lithuanian and Russian. There’s a decent grocery store within walking distance, which is clutch if you want to grab some Lithuanian dark bread and local cheese for breakfast instead of hunting down overpriced tourist cafés every morning. The neighborhood has this lived-in feeling that’s refreshing after bouncing between sterile hotels in city centers. Plus, parking here is actually manageable, unlike in the medieval streets downtown where you’re basically gambling with your rental car’s side mirrors. I found Aurora to be the kind of place where you can decompress after long days of sightseeing – it doesn’t have that hotel energy where you feel like you need to be “on” all the time. If you’re someone who likes authentic experiences over polished convenience, and you don’t mind a short commute to reach the main attractions, this homestay delivers something most hotels can’t: a genuine taste of how locals actually live in Lithuania’s capital.

Reviews of HOMESTAY ,,Aurora,,
Disappointing – Yaroslav from Luxembourg – June 9, 2025 (4/10)
Hospitable and welcoming hostess
What could be improved: With all respect to the host, but I have to leave a bad review so people see it. The hostess is very nice lady, but the place was not as good as we expected from the reviews.
We booked the "One-Bedroom Apartment," that it’s a one big room in a basement with a separate bathroom (private space). Everything looked not clean, like no one had cleaned in a long time. Dust and dirt everywhere.
There’s a fridge and microwave, but no kitchen sink. You have to wash dishes in the small bathroom sink.
I don’t recommend staying here if you like clean places.Fair – Kashif from Germany – July 19, 2025 (5/10)

Dobra lokalizacja dla zmotoryzowanych, cisza, spokój, przyroda, bliski dojazd do miasta i sklepów. Komunikatywna gospodyni, lodówka, mikrofalówka, wygodne łóżko
Pobyt był bardzo udany. – Paweł from Poland – July 10, 2025 (7/10)
What could be improved: Miejsce jest nieco na odludziu i dojazd i powrót komunikacją do Centrum szczególnie wieczorem jest nieco utrudniony. – José from Finland – July 9, 2025 (8/10)
