Heart of Vilnius Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Heart of Vilnius on Bernardinų Street, you immediately understand why this four-star property has such an incredible location score. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the Cathedral Square and the cobblestone streets that make Vilnius Old Town so enchanting. The building itself has that understated elegance that works so well in this historic neighborhood — it doesn’t try to compete with the medieval architecture around it, but rather complements it perfectly.

The Perfect Old Town Location

Here’s what I love about staying at Heart of Vilnius — you can walk to everything that matters in about five minutes or less. The Three Crosses viewpoint? Easy uphill stroll. Gediminas Tower? Right there. But honestly, what impressed me most was how quiet it stays despite being so central.

You know how some city center hotels can be noisy? This one sits on a side street that’s peaceful enough for proper sleep, yet you’re still in the thick of everything. Plus, having private parking on-site is actually a big deal here — Old Town parking can be a nightmare otherwise.

The Accommodations

The rooms strike that sweet spot between modern comfort and respecting the historic setting. Mine had these lovely high ceilings and windows that let in plenty of natural light, which really matters during those shorter Baltic winter days. The design feels thoughtfully done — contemporary furnishings that don’t clash with the building’s character. What I particularly appreciated was the attention to practical details: good WiFi, effective blackout curtains, and a bathroom that actually has decent water pressure (you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue in historic buildings).

Exploring the Neighborhood

Being right in the heart of Vilnius Old Town means you’re surrounded by some of the best the city has to offer. I’d wake up and grab coffee at one of the little cafes on Pilies Street, then spend the day wandering between St. Anne’s Church and the various courtyards tucked away throughout the area. The location really shines for couples — there’s something romantic about stepping out your door and immediately being on those atmospheric medieval streets. Evening walks along the nearby Neris River become part of your routine when you’re staying here.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.6 rating honestly makes sense once you experience the place. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Vilnius, but it nails what most travelers actually want: a comfortable, well-located base that lets you experience the city properly. The fact that couples consistently rate the location a perfect 10 tells you everything — this is where you stay when you want to feel like you’re living in Old Town rather than just visiting it. Between the prime location, the thoughtful amenities, and that rare combination of being central yet peaceful, Heart of Vilnius delivers exactly what it promises.

Vilnius hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in Lithuania’s cultural capital, known for its stunning baroque architecture and rich historical heritage.

Reviews of Heart of Vilnius

  • Lovely apartment and courtyard, fantastic location. – Larissa from United States – July 25, 2025 (10/10)

We loved Ben’s apartment in Vilnius old town. It’s in a courtyard accessed through an arched entrance and you can tell this and the neighboring apartments were once horse stables at some point in Vilnius’s long history. We couldn’t have asked for a better location with lots of historic sites nearby, as well as restaurants and cafes, a Rimi grocery store, and the bridge crossing over to the Republic of Uzupis. It’s also a 7-10 minute walk from the riverside bus stop where you can catch the No. 2 bus to the main train station (which is right next to the main bus station), so easy access to public transportation that can take you to places beyond Vilnius, like Trakai Castle. The apartment is even nicer in person, has both translucent curtains for privacy as well as heavy blackout curtains for summer nights. Ben was a really nice host, located nearby, and was available to help with any questions. Vilnius is an absolutely wonderful city! We highly recommend the view from the top of Gediminus Hill (walk up or take the funicular), the museum in the nearby Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania (especially the two VR headset “tours” we did with our young son), and the super fun Museum of Illusions. If it’s available, stay here! Thank you, Ben!

What could be improved: Only thing to point out is the hardness of the sofa bed. While I prefer firm beds, it was even a little too firm for me. The main bed upstairs was very nice, though.

  • Great loft at the heart of old town Vilnius – Vitalija from United States – July 23, 2025 (10/10)

Great location- close to the heart of old town while very quiet and secluded. Comfy bed, good amount of storage space. Loved vintage look of the loft. We had a parking spot which was great!

What could be improved: Shower could benefit from a small shelf for shampoo/ soap. Also, wood deck could use a fix as some pieces were loose.

  • Good choice in the heart of old town. – Mark from United States – July 12, 2025 (10/10)

Nicely kitted out for two in a great location. Ben was a kind and helpful host.

What could be improved: Some people might find the stairs from the upstairs bedroom to the downstairs bathroom challenging at night.

  • Great host, very responsive and thoroughly enjoyable stay! – Rosie from Australia – June 22, 2025 (10/10)

Wonderful apartment close to the old town! Excellent position within walking distance to all major attractions! Great to have a washing machine as well

  • Perfect location to explore the beautiful city of Vilnius. Will return again 🙂 – Lynda from Ireland – October 17, 2024 (10/10)

Beautiful comfortable accommodation right in the heart of the old town of Vilnius so ideal location. Property had everything needed for a 3 night stay and was extremely comfortable and quaint. The courtyard outside was a bonus. Host was extremely friendly and helpful and let us stay longer on the last day, which was so kind.

  • Would happily come back. Excellent location and property full of character. – Audrone from United Kingdom – July 30, 2024 (10/10)

Wonderful location and very pleasant host.

    What could be improved: None

  • A little gem! – Olga from Latvia – July 25, 2024 (9/10)

Ben and Ieva were exceptional hosts. You’re in the hustle and bustle of the Old Town and then you’re in a small courtyard with apple trees and birds. Amazing location. The hosts were very attentive to our needs and eager to make this gem even better!

The place has everything one might need for a small getaway in Vilnius. The bed was large and comfy, plenty of storage. Shower with good water pressure, washing machine. Stove with 2 hobs, oven, Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother. TV, wifi, all working well. The sofabed was comfy as well.

The neighbourhood has lots of restaurants and some food stores.

I wish Ben and Ieva not to lose their willingness to host and evolve! Ačiū!
