Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Apartment with Sauna” listed on Pylimo Street, I almost scrolled past it thinking it was some basic rental. But you know what? Sometimes the most straightforward names hide the best surprises, and this place absolutely delivered on its promise.

The location is actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Vilnius rather than just visiting it. Pylimo gatvė runs right through the heart of the Old Town, but it’s not one of those tourist-packed streets where you’re dodging selfie sticks every five minutes. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Cathedral Square, but tucked away enough that you can actually hear yourself think. I mean, there’s still some street noise – it’s the city center after all – but nothing that kept me awake. The building itself has that solid, old-world feel that makes you appreciate why UNESCO went crazy for this neighborhood.

Now about that sauna – honestly, this is where the place really shines. After spending all day wandering around cobblestone streets (and trust me, your feet will feel it), having a private sauna in your apartment is like winning the accommodation lottery. It’s not huge, but it’s properly hot and perfectly clean, which is all that matters when you’re trying to unknot your muscles after climbing up to Gediminas Tower. The apartment itself feels more spacious than typical Old Town places, probably because whoever designed it actually understood that travelers need room to spread out their stuff. The kitchen’s well-equipped enough that I actually cooked a few meals instead of eating out every night – which saved me a decent chunk of change, considering how pricey some of the tourist restaurants can get.

What really impressed me was how thoughtfully everything was set up. You’ve got good lighting for actually reading at night, decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every time someone next door turns on their TV, and – this might sound minor but it’s not – really good water pressure in the shower. The host clearly knows what matters to people who are staying more than just a night or two. Check-in was smooth, no standing around on the street with my luggage wondering if I’m at the right door.

The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s definitely comfortable and well-maintained, though don’t expect marble bathrooms or a concierge. The 7.9 guest rating makes sense too; it’s solidly good without being jaw-dropping spectacular. I think some people might dock it points for not having a proper lobby or daily housekeeping, but that completely misses the point. This isn’t trying to be a fancy hotel – it’s trying to be a really good apartment that happens to have a sauna, and it nails that concept perfectly. If you’re the type who values having your own space and some genuine local flavor over having someone fold your towels into swans, you’ll probably love this place as much as I did.

  Very spacious and great that is has two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

  What could be improved: thre was no proper lights in the apartment as well as not enough sofas to sit on and enjoy the evening with friends, also had to call the owner every time to get in to park the car

  What could be improved: The stay in the apartment was not comfortable. Although the host intended to replace the broken TV, he crossed boundaries – knocking on the door late in the evening (after 9 PM) and arguing with the technician about second hand TV purchase conditions right in front of us. While in the apartment, he also nitpicked over small things (even about laundry being hung in the wrong place, despite there being no drying rack provided). Such behavior did not create a pleasant or welcoming environment
