Angel House Vilnius, 5 Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Angel House Vilnius, 5? It’s tucked away on Užupio gatvė in this bohemian corner of the Old Town that honestly feels like a different world from the main tourist strips. I mean, you’re literally in the self-proclaimed Republic of Užupis – that quirky artist district with its own constitution nailed to a wall nearby. The location alone makes this place special, but the hotel itself has this understated charm that grew on me during my stay.

The building has character without trying too hard, if that makes sense. It’s not one of those overly polished places where everything feels sterile – there are little imperfections and authentic touches that remind you you’re in a centuries-old neighborhood. My room was clean and comfortable (honestly better than I expected for a 3-star), and here’s something practical that mattered: it was actually quiet at night. That’s not always guaranteed in Vilnius Old Town, especially during summer when the outdoor dining scene gets lively. The staff seemed to genuinely know the area too – not just the obvious tourist spots, but they pointed me toward this tiny café down the street that I never would’ve found otherwise.

What really struck me about staying here was how it puts you right in the middle of authentic Vilnius life. You’ll wake up to the sound of cobblestones (yes, that’s a thing), and you’re a five-minute walk from the Vilnia River where locals actually hang out, not just tourists taking selfies. The Angel House sits in that sweet spot where you feel connected to the real city – there’s a small grocery store practically next door, and you’ll pass actual residents going about their day. Sure, you’re still close enough to Cathedral Square and the main sights (maybe a 15-minute walk), but you get to retreat to this quieter pocket where things slow down. The 8.9 rating makes sense once you spend a night here – it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re trying to experience a place rather than just check it off a list.

Hotel in Vilnius booking should be done early, especially during summer festival season when the city hosts internationally celebrated cultural and music events.

Location was fantastic, the apartment was perfect for what we needed. Perfect location to reach everything by foot

What could be improved: If traveling with a young child. There are quite a few steps to reach it. So important to remember when travelling with a stroller

  • Wonderful – Ruthvarno from Belgium – December 30, 2024 (9/10)

An exceptional experience! Perfect place in the center of Vilnius, and just under the "Angel's" wing 🙂
Historically sensitive interieur taking you back to the beginning of the XXth century.

  • Great location and lovely apartament – Kristina from United Kingdom – October 1, 2022 (9/10)

Lovely house and great location. It was easy to get the keys (check-in and check-out no issues). The apartment was clean with all the needed facilities.

What could be improved: Wi-fi was quite bad. It is good in the living room but in the bedroom is really bad. It was quite annoying.

  • Pleasant – Vasileios from Greece – May 7, 2025 (6/10)

Very nice location. Everything was easy to reach on foot.

What could be improved: Not as clean as expected.

  • Pleasant – Matas from Lithuania – April 21, 2023 (6/10)

Good location, feels like a museum

What could be improved: The typewriter should work. If it did, would be perfect and all 5-stars. Now its less. Also the construction by the other wall is not great.

Also the corridor and staircase look really really bad

  • Bad – Ieva from Spain – September 26, 2022 (1/10)

What could be improved: be careful- it’s renovating on the house! it’s terrible! for me it’s the first time experience like this.
we come late in the evening and we don’t see it, that all building is in renovation stadium. in the morning about 7 a clock begins buildings and all workers outside can look in your apartment.
when I write to owner she answered that on one photo you can see that we have renovating. but look reality on my pictures.
we booked for 4 nights and she returned the money only for two days. on my calls she never answered, only emails, only I m busy sorry.
