The windows – and this is key if you’re a light sleeper like me – actually face the quieter side streets rather than the main tourist drag. You’ll hear some late-night chatter from the cafés below during summer weekends, but it’s more charming than disruptive. The staff genuinely knows their stuff about the area too. When I mentioned wanting to find good Lithuanian beer that wasn’t just the tourist stuff, the front desk guy (I think his name was Tomas?) sent me to this tiny place two blocks over that I never would’ve found otherwise.

What really sells this location is how walkable everything becomes. You’re literally a three-minute stroll to Cathedral Square, but you can also wander deeper into Užupis to check out the angel statue the hotel’s probably named after, browse the little galleries, or grab coffee at one of those outdoor spots that feel like they’re straight out of a European film. The Old Town cobblestones can be a bit rough on your feet after a full day – fair warning – but there’s something about coming back to this particular street that feels like you’re returning to a neighborhood rather than just a hotel. Parking’s actually manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in European old towns will appreciate. There’s a small lot nearby, and the hotel can point you toward it, though honestly you might not need a car much once you’re settled in. That 9.3 rating isn’t just inflated review scores either – I stayed here twice now, and they’ve been consistently solid both times. It’s not fancy in a marble-lobby kind of way, but it’s got character and the kind of genuine local feel that makes you want to extend your stay an extra night.
