Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of places in Vilnius Old Town, and Angel House Vilnius, 27 honestly surprised me in the best way possible. You know how sometimes a 3-star place can feel sort of apologetic about not being fancy? Well, this isn’t one of those places. Walking down Pranciškonų street – which, by the way, most tourists miss completely even though it’s literally steps from all the main action – you’d almost walk right past the entrance if you weren’t looking for it. But that’s actually part of its charm.

The thing about this spot is that it gets the balance right between being in the thick of Old Town without dealing with the chaos that comes with staying right on Pilies or Aušros Vartų streets. I mean, you’re still close enough to stumble back from dinner at Lokys (that medieval restaurant everyone talks about) in about three minutes, but you won’t have drunk tourists singing under your window at 2 AM. The building itself has this quiet, almost residential feel – honestly, some of the locals I chatted with didn’t even realize it was a hotel until recently. The rooms are clean and comfortable without trying too hard to be Instagram-worthy, which I actually appreciated. There’s something refreshingly honest about a place that focuses on getting the basics really right rather than blowing the budget on trendy fixtures that’ll look dated in two years.

What really sold me on the place was how the staff actually seemed to know Vilnius, not just the tourist version of it. When I asked about finding a good spot for coffee that wasn’t overrun with tour groups, they pointed me toward this little place on Bernardinų that I never would’ve found otherwise. And parking – God, parking in Old Town is usually a nightmare – but they actually helped me figure out the residential permit situation for the street, which saved me from feeding those ancient meters every two hours. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there; it’s one of those places that doesn’t promise the moon but delivers on everything it does promise. You’re not getting a spa or room service, but you’re getting a genuinely comfortable stay in one of the most beautiful parts of the city, run by people who seem to actually care about whether you have a good time in their neighborhood. Sometimes that’s worth more than all the marble lobbies in the world.

  Have to say that it was my favorite accomodation of this type in a very long time, and I stayed in many. The location cannot be more convenient, walking distance to attractions, old town, city center, you name it. And it very quiet. The apartment is very comfortable, equipped with everything you can think of. Clean, filled with light, I wish I could have stayed longer.

  The unit itself was great! … though I would have liked a fan. The shower was wonderful in terms of the amount of hot water, it’s heat and the water pressure. It was also GREAT to have a wash machine to launder clothes. The kitchen setup was perfect, though I broke a wine glass!! Oops! I did not like that I was 2.5 flights up. I don’t mind 1 story … 2 is taxing. Also, though the place was clearly being remodeled, the entrance has a long way to got. The good side is that the entrance wards off any ne’er-do-wells. Good location, too. All in all … recommend 🙂

  Mon hôte Kristina a été très arrangeante pour mon arrivée malgré une petit incompréhension, elle m'a fourni énormément de conseils pour des visites et restaurant autour. Le logement dispose de tous les équipements nécessaire en quantité (sauf peut être un micro-onde).
