Zalgirio apartment Overview

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Zalgirio apartment on Žalgirio street in Žirmūnai – I mean, it’s not exactly the Old Town everyone raves about. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you, and this place definitely falls into that category with its impressive 9.1 rating that actually makes sense once you settle in.

The Žirmūnai district has this authentic, lived-in feel that tourists rarely experience – you’re surrounded by locals going about their daily lives, with proper grocery stores like Maxima just around the corner and cafés where you won’t hear a word of English. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets in the evenings, especially compared to the cobblestone chaos of Pilies street. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile hotel room, which is refreshing after bouncing between cookie-cutter accommodations. The furnishings aren’t fancy – we’re talking solid 3-star territory here – but everything works properly, the WiFi doesn’t drop out every five minutes, and there’s actual counter space in the kitchen if you want to grab some fresh bread from the local bakery and make breakfast yourself.

Getting around is actually easier than you’d think from this location. The bus connections into central Vilnius are frequent (the 53 route becomes your best friend), and honestly, the 15-minute ride gives you a nice preview of the city each day. I found myself walking along the Neris River more than I expected – there’s something peaceful about those morning strolls that you just don’t get when you’re staying right in the tourist thick of things. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward hovering-around-reception-desk drama. What strikes me most about this place is how it manages to feel genuinely comfortable without trying too hard – the kind of spot where you can spread out your stuff, do some laundry, and actually relax instead of feeling like you’re just passing through. For travelers who want to experience Vilnius like someone who actually lives there, rather than just hopping between the cathedral and Gediminas Castle, this apartment offers something more authentic than your typical city center hotel.

Early hotels booking in Vilnius requires advance planning during peak cultural seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s magnificent baroque architecture and vibrant arts scene.

Reviews of Zalgirio apartment

  • Exceptional – Nicole from Israel – May 7, 2025 (10/10)

The appartment was lovely – spacious, clean and had all the amenities you could possibly need. The owner is very kind and answers immediately. It is located next to different supermarkets which is a great bonus. Two bus stations away from city center! Highly recommended!

  • Exceptional – Godik from Ukraine – April 18, 2025 (10/10)

    Everything was great!
Especially, I forgot my earphone, the owner found it and sent it to me!
    I’m very grateful! 🙂

  • Stay at Vilnius – Helen from Estonia – July 29, 2023 (9/10)

Everything was good in the apartment. It was spacious and clean. One suggestion – lid for the frying pan.

  • Exceptional – Artiom from Lithuania – March 13, 2023 (10/10)

Spacious and cozy apartment. A 5-minute ride from the city center. There is a parking place. Have stuff for long-term staying like iron, washing machine, dryer and etc.

  • Good location, spacious apartment, – Tomas from Slovakia – September 13, 2024 (8/10)

    – it is really spacious, if you need to stay for longer it is way better to have place like this than hotel room
    – comes with equipped kitchen
    – clean
    – reserved parking spot
    – located close to bus stops, Lidl, not far from the centre
    – very good communication with host and invoice provided upon request

What could be improved: I still enjoyed my stay but I think there are few items that should be addressed:
    – the bedroom doesn't have proper shades, this can be problem during summer mornings when sunrise is early
    – there is no place in the apartment for proper sitting – the chairs have soft bottom, not proper hard surface, and sofa is pretty "used" so sitting on it feels really uneven. Please have a look at this cause it is really important, especially if someone needs to work from this place.

  • Convinient for the family, public transport is easily accessible – Ilze from Latvia – April 16, 2024 (8/10)

    Value for money

What could be improved: Unattractive surroundings

  • Quiet, clean, and well-provisioned. – John from United States – October 8, 2023 (10/10)

This is the most quiet neighborhood we have stayed in over 30 trips to Vilnius. Also, the layout of the apartment was superb, one of the best I’ve seen.

  • Comfortable place to stay, I wish I could've stayed longer. – Paweł from Poland – August 1, 2023 (10/10)

Dedicated parking slot. Easy check in and check out. Clean apartment, with a spacious feel and huge windows giving a nice view of the city. I enjoyed the balcony as well – it is equipped with a couple of chairs and a small table.
Kitchen and fridge are fully functional, and with Lidl nearby, it's easy to get the basics and feel like home.
Commute to the old town is good, you can get there in under 30 minutes by bus.
The host was kind, responsive and gave clear instructions about the keys and so on.

What could be improved: Very minor things. The cabinet door for the trash bin (hangs too low & needs a tiny hand-lift to close properly) or the darkener over bedroom windows – simply needs to be glued again at the bottom to give a neat, taken-care-of feel.

  • Nice aparment for family stay – Dzmitry from Belarus – September 7, 2022 (9/10)

Cozy apartment, friendly staff, parking slot is close to building. The apartment is across the river not far from the center part of Vilnius. It was new experience to stay couple of days there, comparing stay in the center of the city.

What could be improved: The door in the shower may work better

  • excellent and modern appartment. – Alok from Norway – July 21, 2025 (9/10)

very modern apartment with almost all necessary basic things. It expected our expectation except it is comfortable for 4 people and we were five. I would really recommend it.
