I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Vokiečių g., I had to double-check I was booking the right place. The name literally translates to “German Street,” which sounds more like directions than a hotel, but trust me on this one. Sometimes the best finds have the most unassuming names, and this little 3-star gem absolutely proves that point.

What strikes you first is how this place punches way above its weight class. I mean, a 9.5 rating for a 3-star hotel? That doesn’t happen by accident. The staff here actually seem to care about what they’re doing – not in that overly rehearsed way you get at chain hotels, but genuinely. Check-in was smooth, and they knew the neighborhood inside and out when I asked about dinner spots. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they’re thoughtfully put together. Clean lines, good lighting, and honestly the bed was more comfortable than some 4-star places I’ve stayed. You know what really got me though? The little details. Proper hangers in the closet, outlets where you actually need them, and a shower with decent water pressure – sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many places get this stuff wrong.

The location is what really makes this work. You’re right in the thick of things without being on top of a nightclub or main traffic artery. I could walk to most of the spots I wanted to see, and when I needed to venture further out, public transport was right there. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving – this is old city territory, so the streets are narrow and spots fill up quick. But honestly, once you’re here, you probably won’t need the car much anyway. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel that tourist areas often lose. You’ll see locals grabbing coffee in the morning, kids walking to school, that sort of authentic daily rhythm that makes you feel like you’re experiencing a place rather than just passing through it. I stayed here during shoulder season, so it wasn’t too crowded, but I imagine summer gets pretty busy given how well-regarded this place seems to be among people who actually know the area.

  We only booked at the last minute, yet the owner replied very quickly with details on how to access the property. The owner was very polite and friendly. This place has everything you may need. The kitchen is well equipped, and the beds are comfortable. The interior is very nicely done, lots of attention to small details. Convenient location too, nearby supermarkets and restaurants, city sights in a walking distance. Would return here again

  The apartments are very centrally located near the old town and with many good nearby restaurants. My studio was clean and well equipped. The washing machine worked well.

  Of the more than 20 European trips and 40 countries visited over the past 5 years, this was the absolute BEST lodging of all for so many reasons. First, the host, Arunas, was extra helpful and gracious in every way possible – even helping us carry our luggage up and down the stairs. He was almost immediately available for every question or matter. The big apartment was almost magical – renovated to be modern with immersion in Lithuanian culture and filled with charm. Location was also perfect – central to all of what Old Town Vilnius offers. The furnishings perfectly reflected Lithuanian culture. Kitchen was COMPLETELY equipped and provisioned with morning coffee and tea supplies. Cable television was available in many languages including English.

  This is a fabulous place, because of the intense design effort to preserve and create a fun old-world feel, the comfortable seating and usable kitchen, and the quiet interior courtyard and passageway that the back windows face. Grocery store (Iki) just across the street.

  Great location close to everything. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops just outside. Facilities were excellent. Owner assisted greatly with left luggage due to a late afternoon flight. Couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommended.
