The thing about this neighborhood is that it feels genuinely Lithuanian in a way the city center sometimes doesn’t. You’re about a 15-minute drive from Cathedral Square, but honestly, that distance works in your favor here. The streets are quieter, parking is actually manageable (which anyone who’s circled Gedimino prospektas looking for a spot will appreciate), and you get this authentic slice of how locals actually live. The hotel itself has this modern, almost minimalist vibe that somehow doesn’t feel cold – there’s something about the way they’ve done the lighting and the layout that makes it feel welcoming rather than sterile. I noticed they’ve paid attention to sound insulation too, which is clutch because even though this area is residential and pretty peaceful, you still want that buffer when you’re trying to sleep.

What really struck me about VIXI Skylum is how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between being a proper hotel and feeling like you’re staying somewhere that actually cares about your experience. The staff – and I’m talking about everyone from check-in to housekeeping – they just get it. No pretentious formality, but they’re clearly on top of their game. I mean, you don’t get a 9.8 rating by accident, right? The rooms are thoughtfully designed without being fussy, and I appreciated little touches like actually good coffee in the room and blackout curtains that work properly. The bathrooms are modern and spacious – honestly, better than what you’d find at pricier places closer to the center. What I found interesting is how they’ve managed to create this calm, almost zen-like atmosphere while still being in a residential area where real life is happening just outside. You can walk to local cafes and small shops that tourists never see, grab groceries at the nearby Maxima if you need anything, and still feel connected to authentic Vilnius life. The public transport connections are solid too – there’s a bus stop practically at your doorstep that’ll get you into the heart of the city whenever you want to do the cathedral and castle thing. But here’s what I’d tell anyone considering this place: it’s perfect if you want to experience Vilnius like someone who actually lives here, rather than just hitting the major sights and calling it a trip.

  Everything!! All was new and clean and amazing design! ☺️🫶🏼 Host was very nice and met us on the spot, showed everything. 20min drive to old citu town, but all whats needed also around. Amazing option to get to buildings roof panorama – we just chilled there and enjoyed the night light of the city with some wine! ☝🏼
