I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Uzupis Deluxe Retreat in Old Town Vilnius. The building on Malūnų gatvė looks pretty unassuming from the street, but you know what they say about judging books by their covers. This place completely surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to capture that whole Užupis vibe without being too precious about it. If you don’t know, Užupis is this quirky little “republic” within Vilnius – they’ve got their own constitution posted on a wall in multiple languages (including one that just says “everyone has the right to be happy”). The retreat sits right in this bohemian pocket of the city, maybe a three-minute walk from the famous Angel of Užupis statue. You’re close enough to stumble back after exploring the artist studios and tiny galleries, but far enough from the main Old Town crowds that you actually get some peace. The rooms themselves feel thoughtfully designed – not that sterile hotel chain look, but actually comfortable. I stayed in one of their suites and honestly, the bed was fantastic. Sometimes you don’t realize how much a good night’s sleep matters until you’re walking on cobblestones all day, you know? The bathrooms are modern without being stark, and they’ve got these little touches that show someone was actually thinking about what travelers need. Decent water pressure, good lighting for getting ready, and – this might sound silly – but hooks and surfaces where you can actually put your stuff.

The location is really what seals the deal though. You’re in Old Town proper, so you can walk to Cathedral Square or Gediminas Tower without breaking a sweat, but Malūnų gatvė itself is quiet enough that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM. I actually loved wandering around the neighborhood in the early morning – there’s this great little coffee spot just around the corner, and you’ll see actual locals heading to work instead of just tour groups. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (welcome to European old towns), but the staff actually knows the area and can point you toward the nearest options. The whole check-in experience was refreshingly straightforward too – no weird upselling or complicated key card systems that never work. They just get you settled and let you enjoy the place. With an 8.8 rating, it’s clearly not just me who thinks they’re doing something right here. It’s the kind of spot that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special, even though you’re still right in the heart of everything that makes Vilnius worth visiting.

  The appartment was located in Vilnius center in an artistic neighbourghood called "Užupis". The appartment was very well stocked and we did not miss anything. There was event soap, showergel, coffee etc.

  très bel appartement fort bien équipé, très propre, d'accès facile et géographiquement très bien placé. Hôtesse fort agréable ( contact téléphonique uniquement) et réactive.

  Idealna lokalizacja, cała starówka blisko, do każdej atrakcji kilkuminutowy spacer. W okolicy jest też kilka fajnych miejsc z jedzeniem. Apartament bardzo dobrze wyposażony, naprawdę duży i czysty.

  What could be improved: Tapage nocturne du voisin durant le week end. La chambre à côté du voisin pas utilisable pour dormir. Le voisin cri et augmente le son, quand on lui demande de faire moins de bruit.
