Uzupis apartments – Old Town Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Uzupis apartments – Old Town on Malūnų street, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — it’s tucked away just enough to feel special without being impossible to find. The building itself has that understated charm you see throughout Vilnius Old Town, where centuries-old architecture meets modern comfort. What really struck me was how quiet it felt despite being right in the heart of everything, and honestly, that private parking situation is a game-changer if you’re driving (trust me, finding a spot in the Old Town can be a nightmare).
The Uzupis Connection
Here’s what makes this place special — you’re literally staying in one of Europe’s quirkiest neighborhoods. Uzupis declared itself an independent republic back in 1997, complete with its own constitution and everything (it’s written on mirrors in multiple languages, which you’ll stumble across during your walks). The area has this bohemian artist vibe that’s completely authentic, not manufactured for tourists. You’ll find tiny galleries, eccentric cafes, and street art around every corner, plus the famous Angel of Uzupis statue that’s become the neighborhood’s unofficial symbol.
The Apartment Experience
The apartment itself feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than a typical hotel room. Everything’s thoughtfully arranged — the kitchen actually has proper cookware (not just a kettle and some sad plates), and the space flows naturally without feeling cramped. I mean, it’s a three-star property, so you’re not getting marble bathrooms or anything, but the quality is solid and everything works as it should. The windows let in great natural light, which really makes a difference when you’re spending time inside.
Location Perfection
That 9.9 location score isn’t just marketing fluff — it’s genuinely earned. You can walk to Vilnius Cathedral in about eight minutes, hit up the main shopping street (Pilies) in five, and you’re surrounded by some of the city’s best restaurant options. But here’s the thing couples seem to love most: you get all that accessibility while staying in a neighborhood that feels residential and authentic. Evening walks along the Vilnia River are right there, and the whole area transforms beautifully at sunset when the tourist crowds thin out.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Vilnius isn’t Prague or Budapest — it doesn’t get completely overrun with tourists, which means you can actually enjoy wandering around without fighting crowds. This place captures that perfectly by putting you right where the action is while maintaining a sense of local life. The combination of having your own space with a proper kitchen, being able to park on-site, and waking up in one of the city’s most characterful neighborhoods just works. Plus, that 9.4 rating reflects what I experienced — it’s the kind of place where small details are handled well, from responsive hosts to reliable wifi, which honestly matters more than fancy amenities when you’re exploring a city.
Vilnius’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Lithuanian tradition and modern comfort, with many featuring cultural tour services and authentic Baltic hospitality.

We liked a lot the localisation, close to all malin attactions in Vilnius. Good size of the apartament, just enough for the family 2+2 teenagers. Parking space is a definitely plus for this place. Very clean place, and all utilities needed for short stay are in place.

Quiet oasis in the heart of Old town. Many excellent restaurants within walking distance, all main city attractions within reach. Flat is very cosy and has everything one needs. We will definitely book again if we are to be back.

Perfect stay with children – first floor, playground one step away from apartment, very safe and quiet zone. Host was very polite and provided heater (it was cold a little because heating season hasn’t started). Apartment was very clean, amazing view from window.

Nice reception by the host.Elina from Latvia (9/10)
The apartment is in an excellent location, on a little quite street behind locked gates in a private apartment complex in Užupis, but right next to Vilnius old town and very close to the main sightseeing spots. 👌🏼
Everything was spotlessly clean, the apartment itself is really beautiful, has everything you need and is really spacious. We truly enjoyed our stay and would come back.Jurgis from Lithuania (10/10)
