It’s actually in Uzupis – and I mean properly in the heart of this quirky little “republic” that declared independence from Vilnius back in ’97. Most people think it’s just a touristy gimmick, but honestly, staying here made me realize how special this neighborhood really is. The apartment sits right among the cobblestone streets where you’ll find actual artists’ studios tucked between cafes that serve coffee strong enough to wake the dead.

The space itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental – there are these interesting art prints on the walls (some look like they might be from local artists), and the three bedrooms are sized differently, which I actually loved. The main bedroom gets this gorgeous morning light, while the smaller one stays cooler if you’re someone who runs hot at night. The kitchen’s well-stocked enough that I ended up cooking more than I planned, partly because the little market down the hill has these incredible fresh herbs and partly because the dining area has this view toward the Vilnia River that made me want to linger over breakfast. The whole place has hardwood floors that creak just enough to feel authentic without being annoying – you know what I mean?

What really got to me, though, was how quiet it gets in the evenings. Uzupis transforms after the day-trippers head back across the river – suddenly you’re hearing church bells and the occasional artist hammering away in their studio, but it’s peaceful in a way that central Vilnius just isn’t. The 9.3 rating honestly makes sense when you factor in that you’re getting three proper bedrooms (not just beds shoved into living spaces like some places) and you can walk to the Angel of Uzupis statue in about two minutes. Plus, and this is something I didn’t expect, the check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that tourist apartment runaround where you’re standing on a street corner for twenty minutes waiting for someone to show up with keys. The owner clearly knows what they’re doing, though I’d recommend bringing some cash for the security deposit since card readers can be hit-or-miss in this part of town. If you’re planning to visit during summer, book early – word’s getting out about places like this, and Uzupis only has so many genuinely good stays that aren’t either hostels or overpriced boutique hotels trying too hard to be cool.

  The apartment was just beautiful, not your usual modern day apartments, it had so much character and charm. The location was fantastic, a pub next door, ATM 1 minute away, a local shop and surrounded by places to eat. So close to all attractions in the city. The host met us from the taxi and showed us around and got us settled. Then we all went for lunch at the local across the road where Andreas (our host) filled us in on the local history and what to do and gave us loads of tips. He took a huge interest in getting to know us also which I really liked 🙂

  Beautiful and very comfortable home and can easily accommodate 3-4 people or more. Excellent location within easy walking distance of pretty much everything you will want to see. Located in a great and cozy neighborhood with good restaurants, pubs, cafes, coffee shops, etc. Friendly owner and very easy to communicate. Had a great experience overall!

  Very good location, supermarket very close (50 m) and 5 minutes from the city center. The apartment is very well equipped with a pleasant appearance. For the cold season there is also a fireplace that certainly creates a romantic atmosphere. I highly recommend, a very good choice!

  Imaginatively decorated apartment in a great location popular with tourists and locals. Minutes walk to restaurants, cafes, supermarket and tourist attractions. A short walk to the Old Town.

  This was excellent opportunity to experience authentic living in the Old city of Vilnius. Owners have done excellent job of collecting and maintaining antique furniture and appliances. The location is perfect. It’s walkable to all the places of interest, grocery next door, multiple restaurants, park with a playground nearby.

  The place was absolutely mesmerizing with its atmosphere and interior. A large and spacious living room combined with a kitchen, which gives the opportunity to spend time together both for those who relax on the large and very comfortable sofa, and for those who are active in the kitchen at the comfortable and elegant kitchen counter. The living room has an excellent sound system and a wonderful bookshelf, which should be interesting even for those who do not speak Lithuanian. The kitchen is comfortable, elegant, inspiring, now the dream is to create one in your country house.
  The bedroom was elegant, the beds and pillows comfortable, the wardrobe spacious and comfortable.
  We were absolutely charmed by the fireplace, which can be enjoyed from both the living room and the bedroom. Admittedly, it takes away the privacy of the bedroom space, but we still want to come back here in the winter to enjoy the atmosphere of this place with dinner cooking, music and fireplace.
  As well as the owner of the house is extremely friendly, communicative, helpful and kind. Thanks for the excellent reception!
