I stayed during late spring and loved opening the windows in the morning to hear the church bells from nearby St. Casimir’s. The Wi-Fi actually works (not always a given in these old buildings), and the heating is solid, which matters more than you’d think if you’re visiting in the colder months.

Here’s the thing about this neighborhood – you’re a two-minute walk from the bohemian Užupis district, which is basically Vilnius’s answer to Montmartre. The locals there will tell you it’s an “independent republic,” and honestly, the whole area has this artistic, slightly eccentric vibe that’s pretty infectious. You can grab coffee at one of the tiny cafés on Paupio street, or wander down to the Vilnia River where it’s surprisingly peaceful. The regular tourist crowds tend to stick to Cathedral Square and Gediminas Avenue, so this little pocket feels more authentic. Plus, there’s a decent grocery store just around the corner on Subačiaus street – nothing fancy, but perfect for picking up basics or local bread and cheese for breakfast. The staff, by the way, clearly know the area well and aren’t just reading from a script when they give recommendations.

  Great location, really close to the city center. The AC worked perfectly, and having a private parking spot was super convenient (just note the street is a bit narrow, so some parking skills help). The kitchen had everything we needed, including enough dishes, a coffee machine, and a water heater. Beds were very comfortable, and the owner was quick to respond and really helpful.
  
  There’s a nice-sized fridge, a little seating area in front of the building, and the whole place was very clean. The only small downside was that the bathroom ventilation wasn’t the best, but overall it was a great stay.
