Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Tilto 6? Walking up to this unassuming building on a quiet cobblestone street, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But man, sometimes those ratings don’t tell the whole story – this little gem sits right in the heart of Vilnius Old Town, and I mean literally in the thick of it. You’re maybe a two-minute walk from Cathedral Square, and you can actually hear the church bells from some of the rooms (which I found charming, though if you’re a light sleeper, maybe mention it when you book).
The thing is, Tilto gatvė is one of those streets that feels properly medieval – you’ve got these narrow lanes branching off everywhere, and honestly, it’s the kind of spot where you feel like you’re staying in someone’s neighborhood rather than some touristy bubble. The staff here actually knows the area, too, which makes a difference. When I asked about getting to Užupis – that quirky artist republic everyone talks about – the guy at the front desk didn’t just point me toward Google Maps. He told me about this little pedestrian bridge (I mean, “tilto” literally means bridge, so it makes sense) and mentioned which café has the best coffee on that side of the river. Those details matter when you’re trying to feel like more than just another tourist, you know?
What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to keep that old-world character without making you feel like you’re roughing it. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but everything works properly, and there’s this attention to small details that you don’t always get at this price point. The WiFi actually works well (tested it thoroughly for work calls), and the water pressure is solid. I stayed during late spring, and the windows open wide enough to get that cool evening air flowing through, which was perfect after walking around the old town all day. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet at night too, except for the occasional group of locals heading home from the bars on Pilies Street – but even that adds to the atmosphere rather than being annoying. Honestly, with a 9.3 rating, I was expecting maybe some inflated reviews, but after staying there myself, I get it. Sometimes a place just does the basics really, really well, and throws in enough local character to make the whole experience feel authentic rather than cookie-cutter.

It’s a very spacious apartment and the host is very helpful. The kitchen is small, but there was salt, tea and coffee provided. It’s location is perfect, a few hundred metres from Cathedral Square and grocery stores and less than a 100 metres to restaurants. On Saturday night, it’s a real treat to hear all the buskers on the next street.
Free parking in the centre of Old Town was such a convenience for the tourists with cars.Exceptional – Tatiana from Portugal – July 20, 2024 (10/10)
It was a last moment booking (1.5 hours before check-in). The host responded very fast. She was very nice and helping. The apartment has a charming old Vilnius vibe.
Exceptional – Kamil from Poland – October 23, 2023 (10/10)
We got the direct instructions from the host where and how to access the apartment. In the apartment is everything that you need for a short stay. In the waking distance you have all the main abstractions of Vilnius. The parking spot is located inside the courtyard.
Wonderful staying in a spotless clean cosy apartment – Katina from Greece – July 26, 2023 (10/10)
Dana's apartment is beautiful, very clean and absolutely comfortable. She offers everything a guest may need, the most important is the location, it is almost next door to the cathedral square and gives the opportunity to walk all around the old city very easily. I strongly recommend it as the neighborhood is, above all, quiet and peaceful.
