Taurakalnis apartment Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Taurakalnis apartment on M. Valančiaus street, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another residential building in Naujamiestis. But you know what? Sometimes the best places hide in plain sight, and this turned out to be one of those gems that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special.

The location is actually perfect if you want to experience Vilnius like a local rather than just another tourist. You’re right in Naujamiestis (which means “New Town” though it’s hardly new by most standards), and I mean, you can walk to the Old Town in about ten minutes – maybe fifteen if you’re taking your time and stopping to peek into those little courtyards that Vilnius does so well. What I really loved was being close enough to Gedimino Avenue for all the action, but tucked away on a quieter street where you’re not dealing with constant foot traffic and late-night bar crowds. The building itself has that solid, understated feel that’s typical of this neighborhood – nothing flashy, but well-maintained and surprisingly peaceful inside.

The apartment itself completely exceeded my expectations, which probably explains that 9.8 rating (and honestly, I’m usually skeptical of ratings that high). The space feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile – I’m talking actual comfortable furniture, a kitchen that’s clearly designed by someone who cooks, not just heats up instant coffee, and those little touches that make you feel at home rather than like you’re camping out in someone’s investment property. The windows face away from the main street noise, so mornings are actually quiet, which is rare in this part of the city. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no awkward lobby waiting or confusing key card systems. One small thing that caught my attention was how well-insulated the place is; you’d think being in an older building might mean hearing your neighbors, but I barely noticed anyone else was around. The only minor downside, if I’m being completely honest, is that parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area – not impossible, just requires a little local knowledge or patience. But then again, you’re so well-positioned here that you might not even need a car once you arrive.

Hotel in Vilnius booking should be done early, especially during summer festival season when the city hosts internationally celebrated cultural and music events.

  • We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully designed, spotless apartment—perfectly located and thoughtfully equipped wit – Sigita from United Kingdom – August 3, 2025 (10/10)

We had an excellent stay at this property as a group of 3 adults and 2 children (ages 9 and 11). The interior was beautifully designed, the space was very comfortable, and the location was perfect—within walking distance of Vilnius city center, Vingio Park, and other key amenities. The apartment was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully equipped with all the small essentials that make a short stay easy and comfortable—like sugar, salt, washing powder, shower gel, slippers, and even bathrobes.

  • Perfect stay – Kristel from Belgium – July 14, 2025 (10/10)

Very good communication with the host. All equipment (dishwasher, wifi, washing machine, television) functioning without issues. Quiet neighbourhood. Walking distance to city centre.

What could be improved: Nothing, everything was fine.

  • Cozy, wonderfully furnished, with everything you need and a good location large apartment for max 6. – Annika from Estonia – April 21, 2025 (10/10)

The apartment was very artistically designed and cozy. It had everything you need for a comfortable holiday. It is located on the 0th floor, so it is a bit cold there, but the necessary heaters are inside. The beds were generally comfortable. The room with the fireplace had a harder bed, the others softer. The host was very friendly and caring and accommodating. As a greeting, we also had surprises on the kitchen table, which was a pleasant surprise. The location of the apartment is ideal, a 10-minute walk from the Old Town.

What could be improved: Everything was OK

I recently stayed at this lovely apartment with my family; there were three of us. The apartment was cozy, clean, and comfortable, with well-decorated spaces that provided a welcoming atmosphere.
The furnishings were incredibly cozy, and the bed was plush and inviting, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a long day of exploring. The living area was perfect for relaxing, and the kitchen had everything we needed to feel right at home.

What truly set this experience apart, however, was the host. She was absolutely amazing—friendly, accommodating, and genuinely invested in making sure my stay was perfect. She was always available to answer any questions I had, making me feel welcomed and valued throughout my visit.

  • Exceptional – Damiana from Portugal – October 14, 2024 (10/10)

  • A great apartment with everything in mind and the host was very kind and welcoming. The location is – Krista from Estonia – September 11, 2024 (10/10)

The location was great, close to the city center and there was a big and beautiful park next to the house.
The apartment was very beautiful, well furnished and comfortable, everything was there.
Upon arrival, there were apples, wine and candies on the table.
The host was very kind and welcoming.

What could be improved: The apartment was on the ground floor, so the air was a bit humid, but it had a dehumidifier and opening the windows wasn't a problem either.
Due to the low windows, the view wasn't the best, but it didn't bother me too much because we were outside during the day.
In fact, everything was fine in the apartment.

  • Spacious, well appointed apartment on ground level. – Sarah from Canada – May 21, 2024 (10/10)

Very spacious, well appointed ground level apartment.

What could be improved: Lights flickered on motion detectors in bedrooms during night.
