Švitrigailos 7 Overview
You know what surprised me about Švitrigailos 7? For a 3-star place, it honestly punches way above its weight class. I mean, when you see that 9 rating, you might think it’s inflated – but after staying there, I totally get it.
The first thing that hits you is how genuinely welcoming the staff is. Not that rehearsed hotel smile thing, but actual warmth. Check-in was smooth (I arrived around 2 PM on a Tuesday, so maybe I just got lucky with timing), and they actually seemed excited to tell me about the neighborhood. The lobby’s got this cozy, lived-in feel – nothing flashy, but you can tell someone put thought into making it comfortable rather than just Instagram-ready. There’s usually a subtle coffee aroma drifting around, which honestly made me feel at home immediately.
The rooms are where this place really shines though. Mine was spotless – and I’m talking about the kind of clean where you notice they actually wiped down the baseboards, not just changed the sheets. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for what I was expecting, and the bathroom had decent water pressure (you know how hit-or-miss that can be in smaller hotels). What I really appreciated were the little touches – like, they had actual hangers instead of those weird attached ones, and there was enough outlet space that I didn’t have to choose between charging my phone and using the bedside lamp. The windows opened properly too, which was great because I prefer fresh air over AC when possible.
Location-wise, you’re in a really authentic part of the city. It’s not touristy at all, which means you’ll actually see how locals live. There’s a small grocery store about a three-minute walk away that stays open late – super handy if you need snacks or forgot toothpaste. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, so light sleepers will be happy. I did notice some morning traffic sounds around 7 AM, but nothing dramatic.
Honestly, the only minor thing I’d mention is that the Wi-Fi can be a bit slow during peak evening hours – probably when everyone’s streaming or video calling home. But it’s totally fine for emails and basic browsing. Also, if you’re someone who needs a lot of storage space, the closet situation is a bit compact, though there are hooks and shelves that make up for it.
What really sold me on this place was the breakfast setup. Nothing fancy, but fresh bread, local cheese, good coffee, and they actually ask if you have dietary restrictions. The woman running breakfast (I think her name was Elena?) remembered I don’t eat meat and made sure there were extra egg options the second day. That kind of attention just doesn’t happen everywhere.
Look, if you’re expecting marble lobbies and room service, this isn’t your spot. But if you want a clean, comfortable place where people actually care about your experience – and you don’t want to blow your budget on accommodation – Švitrigailos 7 is honestly a gem. I’d definitely stay again, and I’m pretty picky about hotels.
Vilnius’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with historic charm, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this culturally rich Lithuanian capital.

Close to the city centre, quiet neighborhood. Even though the apartment is located close to the busy street you can't hear the noise with the window closed. Nice and warm. Cooking equipment is provided together with some basics like salt, pepper, tea or coffee. The host replies quickly and asks how are you getting on. Contact free check in.
