Silvija House Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Silvija House on Pylimo Street, I almost wondered if I’d gotten the address wrong. It’s this unassuming building tucked right into the Old Town fabric, no flashy signs or marble lobby to announce itself. But you know what? That’s exactly what makes it work so well.
The thing about staying here is that you’re actually living in Vilnius, not just visiting it. I mean, step outside and you’re literally on one of those cobblestone streets where locals are grabbing coffee at 7 AM before work, not just tourists shuffling around with maps. Pylimo runs right along the edge of the Old Town, so you can walk to Cathedral Square in maybe eight minutes, but you’re also close enough to the newer parts of the city that you don’t feel trapped in a museum. There’s this great little bakery about two blocks down – I stumbled across it on my second morning and honestly, their rye bread beats anything I found in the tourist areas.
What surprised me most was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re right in the center of everything. The rooms face different directions, and I got lucky with one that looked out toward a small courtyard rather than the street. The whole place has this lived-in feeling that’s really refreshing after staying in too many cookie-cutter hotels. The staff actually knows the neighborhood – when I asked about where to find a decent lunch spot that wasn’t overrun with tour groups, the woman at the front desk didn’t just hand me a brochure. She drew me a little map to this place near Bernardine Park where apparently half the university students eat. She was right, by the way.
It’s definitely a three-star place, so don’t expect a spa or room service, but everything works the way it should. The wifi is solid (I had some work calls that went fine), the shower has good pressure, and the beds are actually comfortable – not too soft, not like sleeping on concrete. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend calling ahead if you’re arriving after 9 PM since it’s not one of those big operations with 24-hour desk staff. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town, but there’s a public garage about three blocks away that’s not too expensive.
I think what really sold me on the place was this: on my last morning, I was sitting by the window having coffee, and I watched the same elderly man walk his tiny dog past at exactly the same time as the previous three days. There’s something about staying somewhere that you can actually observe the rhythm of daily life instead of just the tourist circus. The 9.1 rating makes complete sense to me – it’s one of those places that just does what it’s supposed to do really well, without any fuss or pretense. If you want to feel like you’re staying in Vilnius rather than just passing through it, this is your spot.
Best hotels in Vilnius range from charming boutique properties in the baroque Old Town to elegant modern hotels with stunning views of the Neris River and Gediminas Tower.

Reviews of Silvija House
It was really nice – Kerija from Latvia – August 22, 2025 (9/10)
Everything was great – the price, the location, room var small, but comfy and clean. If you are looking to sleep over and most of the time are spending doing something else, then this is very good choice!
Very Good – Tobias from Germany – August 20, 2025 (8/10)
Easy check-in, comfortable bed and spacious room, friendly staff, very central location!
What could be improved: The shower doors did not close reliably, unless you really made sure to carefully close them, so they would not open again. In the kitchen, in one mug the cornflakes were sticking to each other, so they must've been there for some time.Really nice stay – Chernoshey from United States – August 20, 2025 (9/10)
The property met all my expectations.
What could be improved: Nothing really.Very Good – Luis from Portugal – August 15, 2025 (8/10)
The location was good, near the main old center within walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was quite big and comfortable.
What could be improved: Nothing much to add with the exception that the street on weekends might get a little noisey specially from some drivers that like to speed up at night.Amazing – Denisa-bianca from Romania – August 11, 2025 (10/10)
Great location, nice and comfortable

What could be improved: Messy arrival, took 15 mins to find out how to open the padlock that contained the keys. Not enough milk for tea or cerealVery Good – Polly from United Kingdom – July 31, 2025 (8/10)
Comfortable room close to the old town. Nice private bathroom with a good shower. The staff are helpful and luggage storage is available.
What could be improved: My room faced onto the street and it was quite noisy.Wonderful – Andrea from Italy – July 16, 2025 (9/10)

A wonderful stay at a great location in Vilnius. – Saarikoski from Finland – July 13, 2025 (9/10)
Clean, nice, comfortable, excellent location.
Exceptional – Chrysa from Greece – July 6, 2025 (10/10)
The area is really perfect. Near the main attractions, in the biggining of the old city and in the center of nightlife, it is really very comfortable if you want to stay out until late. Trams and buses stop in the main street just 20 meter from the door. Although the hotel is so central, in our room we didn't have any problems with noise. The kitchen is always open to use, so you can have your breakfast or dinner easily. Moreover there is free coffe, milk and ceareals. And water for welcoming! We really enjoyed averything! Thank you!
What could be improved: No complains!
