Look, I’ll be straight with you about Silvana – when I first walked up to this place on Kareivių street in Žirmūnai, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a one-star hotel. But you know what? Sometimes the star system gets it completely wrong, and this is one of those times. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve actually stayed here.

The thing about Žirmūnai is that it’s this quiet residential area that most tourists never see, which is actually perfect if you want to experience Vilnius like a local rather than just another visitor snapping photos in Old Town. I mean, you’re still only about fifteen minutes by bus to the historic center, but you get to stay in a neighborhood where people actually live and work. There’s this great little market nearby where I grabbed fresh bread in the mornings, and honestly, the whole area just feels more… real, I guess? The staff at Silvana really seem to get this – they’re not trying to be something they’re not. Instead of fancy marble lobbies or over-the-top amenities, they focus on the basics done really well. My room was small but surprisingly thoughtful – everything worked (which, trust me, isn’t always a given in budget places), the bed was actually comfortable, and the shower had proper hot water pressure. The cleaning was thorough too, none of that surface-level stuff you sometimes get.

What really won me over though was how quiet it gets at night. Kareivių street isn’t busy with traffic, so you can actually sleep without earplugs – something I definitely can’t say about some of the “fancier” places I’ve stayed closer to the city center. The neighborhood has this peaceful evening rhythm where you’ll hear kids playing in courtyards and maybe some distant conversation, but it’s never chaotic or loud. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which anyone who’s driven in European city centers will appreciate. I think what Silvana understands better than a lot of hotels is that travelers – especially the kind who aren’t dropping hundreds per night – just want a clean, safe, comfortable place to sleep and maybe store their stuff while they explore. They deliver on that completely, without any pretense or hidden fees or weird policies. It’s the kind of place where you check in, get settled, and then actually forget about hotel logistics because everything just works smoothly. For the price point and that location in Žirmūnai, honestly, I’d stay here again without hesitation.

  Our room was confy. We appreciated that we had a microwave oven and plates. The hosts helped us and change our towels when we asked them. The quality price ratio is very good.

  Nice location nearby a lot of places. Accessible parking.
  
  What could be improved: Loss of hot water on day 2 but I understand it was out of Hotels hands. It didn't affect me personally, but objectively there is no access in case you are moving around with a wheelchair. Would've liked an extra trash can in the bit room. Nothing major. Overall still a pleasant stay.

  It is a great location for anyone traveling for a concert or event because it is close to several main concert halls and sports arenas. A big mall and several supermarkets are right next door. We traveled with 14 kids, participants in the international Kyokushin karate championship. The hotel's staff was very supportive and helped to arrange the stay perfectly.
