It’s tucked right into one of those gorgeous historic buildings that make Vilnius Old Town feel like you’re wandering through a fairy tale, and honestly, the location alone is worth the price of admission.

What struck me immediately was how quiet it gets once you step inside – which is saying something, because Aušros Vartų can get pretty lively, especially when tourists are making their way to the Gates of Dawn shrine just up the street. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood inside and out (I mean really knows it, not just the tourist highlights), and they pointed me toward this tiny coffee spot on Bokšto street that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms themselves feel like someone’s incredibly stylish apartment rather than a cookie-cutter hotel space – each one’s different, with these beautiful old architectural details mixed in with modern touches that actually make sense together. I stayed in what I think was a corner room, and the morning light coming through those tall windows was absolutely perfect for just sitting with coffee and planning out the day.

Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart though – it doesn’t feel like you’re staying in a hotel at all. There’s no star rating because, well, it doesn’t fit into those standard categories, and that’s exactly the point. The owner clearly put thought into every single detail, from the way the old wooden floors creak just enough to feel authentic (but not enough to be annoying) to how they’ve managed to soundproof things so you’re not hearing every conversation from the street below. Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of the Old Town – I ended up using one of the lots near the cathedral and just walking the few minutes over, which honestly was fine because you’ll be doing plenty of walking anyway. If you’re coming during summer, book way ahead because places like this in Vilnius fill up fast once word gets around. I mean, when you find a spot that feels this genuinely special in one of Europe’s most underrated old towns, you don’t keep it to yourself for long.

  Perfect position short walk from bus, train stations and the old town. Two supermarkets close by. Enormous comfortable bed with massive tv and window to see sunrise.
  
  What could be improved: The enterance is a nightmare and three flights of stairs up. Only suitable for light luggage.
