Rusty Red loft in City centre Self check-in No 2 Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name Rusty Red loft in City centre Self check-in No 2, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But this little apartment on Naugarduko street turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you want to tell everyone about it (hence why I’m writing this).
The location is actually perfect if you know Vilnius at all. You’re right in Naujamiestis, which locals will tell you is where the real life happens – not touristy like Old Town, but still walkable to everything that matters. I mean, you can stroll to Gediminas Avenue in about ten minutes, and there’s this great little coffee spot called Caffeine just around the corner that most visitors never find. The building itself is typical Soviet-era architecture from the outside, but don’t let that fool you. Once you’re inside apartment number 2 on the third floor, it’s like stepping into someone’s stylish city pad – and honestly, that rusty red color scheme they’ve got going actually works really well. It feels warm without being overwhelming, you know?
The self check-in thing was surprisingly smooth – they send you all the codes beforehand, and there’s none of that awkward waiting around in a lobby hoping someone shows up. I appreciated that, especially since I arrived pretty late after a delayed flight. The loft itself has this open, airy feel that you don’t always get in city center apartments. The bed was comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the kitchen area had everything I needed for making coffee in the morning and heating up some cepelinai I picked up from the market. One thing worth mentioning – the windows face the courtyard, so it’s actually quite quiet at night despite being right in the center of things. I was worried about street noise, but honestly slept better than I do at home.
What really struck me was how the place feels lived-in rather than sterile – there are books on the shelves, decent lighting for reading, and the wifi actually works properly, which isn’t always a given in older buildings. The shower has good pressure too, which after walking around Vilnius all day exploring the backstreets and climbing up to Gediminas Tower, you’ll definitely appreciate. The neighborhood comes alive in the evenings – you’ll hear people chatting in Lithuanian and Russian drifting up from the cafes below, but it’s more atmospheric than annoying. During the day, Naugarduko street has this nice energy with people heading to work or university, and there’s a small grocery store literally two minutes away if you need anything. I’d definitely stay here again – it’s got that sweet spot of being affordable but not feeling cheap, central but not chaotic, and authentic without sacrificing comfort.
Vilnius’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with historic charm, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this culturally rich Lithuanian capital.

What could be improved: Not super clean but ok, except the floor was not clean (grit & dust). Towels didn't smell very fresh after use.. and a bathroom floor towel/ bath mat would be neededStay for 5 Days – Andrejs from United Kingdom – June 2, 2025 (7/10)
Location is good!
What could be improved: During the day it was very noisy because of the renovations around, the elevator did not always work, the stairs to the bedroom were not very convenient, the second floor where the bedroom was was not convenient at all, the ceilings were very low, you could break your head. Everything in the apartment was new, but there was very little space, the square footage was overstated, the width was a maximum of 2.8 m, the length was about 7 mExceptional – Sonata from Lithuania – July 20, 2025 (10/10)
