River To The City – Self check in Overview

Honestly, River To The City – Self check in caught me off guard in the best possible way. I’ll be straight with you – I was a bit skeptical about the whole self check-in thing at first, but it actually ended up being one of those “why don’t more places do this?” moments. You get the codes sent to your phone, walk right up to Studentų gatvė 45, and boom – you’re in without waiting around a lobby or dealing with desk clerks who may or may not speak your language.

The location is what really sold me though. Zverynas is this quirky little district that feels almost village-like, even though you’re literally in Vilnius. I mean, you’ve got the Neris River right there (hence the name, I’m guessing), and it’s this perfect spot where you can hear water lapping but still catch a tram into Old Town in maybe fifteen minutes. The building itself sits on a street that’s got this lived-in feel – you know, actual Lithuanians walking their dogs and heading to the corner shop, not just tourist traps. There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels like a neighborhood rather than a hotel district.

The rooms are solid three-star territory – nothing fancy, but everything works and it’s cleaner than you’d expect for the price point. What I appreciated most was the attention to small stuff that self-service places often mess up. Good WiFi that actually reaches every corner, decent water pressure in the shower, and – this might sound weird – but the curtains actually block out light properly. You know how some places have those flimsy curtains that let street lights leak in all night? Not here. The 7.8 rating makes sense to me because it delivers on what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. I did notice some street noise in the mornings (Lithuanians are early risers, apparently), but honestly, it wasn’t anything that bothered me after the first night.

What really works about this place is that it gives you space to experience Vilnius like you’re actually living there for a few days, not just passing through. The self check-in removes that weird hotel formality, and being in Zverynas means you’re walking past bakeries and small cafés that clearly cater to locals rather than tour groups. I found myself grabbing coffee from this little spot two blocks down every morning – the kind of routine you develop when you’re not staying in some sterile hotel corridor. If you’re the type who likes exploring a city on foot and doesn’t need someone holding your hand through every step of your stay, this place just makes sense.

Hotels in Vilnius offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this Baltic gem, with easy access to museums, galleries, and historic landmarks.

Reviews of River To The City – Self check in

  • Very good place to stay. – Jonas from Lithuania – November 19, 2023 (9/10)

The location is quite calm. Safe. easy to acces. Clean appartment.

What could be improved: No TV.

  • Nice for a short stay – Laura from Spain – September 4, 2023 (8/10)

    East check in

What could be improved: The smell and the poor lighting

  • meh – Konrad from Poland – June 1, 2025 (6/10)

Location was as expected, the size was adequate to my needs

What could be improved: Air circulation was really bad

  • Not so good. – Davis from Latvia – June 16, 2024 (5/10)

Parking was great. Not far from apartment and easy to park.
Location was good, as it was not too far to walk to city centre.

What could be improved: Both shower heads were broken, so showering was not as intended.
When boiling water, the kitchen extractor fan was leaking orange liquid drops, not sure what it is, but sure needs to be cleaned.
We had an issue where the building had no electricity for first evening and the next morning. I know this is the owners fault, but found it quite disrespectful to expect a full price payment for such stay.

    все

What could be improved: все было отлично

  • Fair – Patricija from Lithuania – June 18, 2024 (5/10)

    Rami vieta

What could be improved: 1. duše prausiantis viskas bėga ant plytelių, nes nėra durų, dėlto vonios kambarys tiesiog skęsta.
