Regina House- sv. Mikalojaus 13 Overview
You know what surprised me most about Regina House- sv. Mikalojaus 13? It’s one of those places that completely defies what you’d expect from a 3-star hotel. I mean, when I first walked up to the building on Mikalojaus Street, I’ll admit I wasn’t sure what I was getting into – the entrance is sort of tucked away and honestly pretty understated. But that 8.7 rating it’s earned? Yeah, I get it now.
The location is actually brilliant once you figure out the neighborhood. You’re right in the heart of things but on this quieter side street that locals seem to prefer, which means you can actually sleep at night (trust me, that’s not always guaranteed in this part of the city). What I loved is that you can walk to pretty much everything – there’s this little bakery just around the corner that opens ridiculously early and makes these pastries that’ll ruin your diet plans, and the main square is maybe a five-minute stroll. The staff really knows their stuff too, and not in that rehearsed tourist-board way. When I asked about getting to the castle district, the guy at reception actually drew me a little map showing which streets to take to avoid the crowds – the kind of insider knowledge you usually only get from staying with locals.
The rooms themselves hit that sweet spot between cozy and functional. Nothing fancy, but everything works properly (which, honestly, is more than I can say for some much pricier places I’ve stayed). The beds are actually comfortable – not too soft, not like sleeping on concrete – and the wifi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes like it does at half the hotels around here. One thing that caught me off guard was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re so central. I think it’s because Mikalojaus Street doesn’t get much through traffic, just people who actually live or work in the area. The breakfast situation is pretty solid too – nothing elaborate, but they’ve got the basics covered and the coffee is surprisingly good. What really sealed the deal for me was the little touches that show someone actually cares about the place running well. Like, they keep umbrellas by the door for guests, and there’s always someone around to help with questions without hovering. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real, not just passing through a generic hotel bubble.
To book a hotel in Vilnius during major Baltic celebrations, travelers need early planning as this historic Lithuanian capital draws visitors eager to experience its UNESCO World Heritage old town and vibrant arts scene.

Loved being opposite the cute church and there was a cool looking pub very close by. The property itself was a bit tricky to find and I needed to call the owner, but my calls were answered quickly and everything was solved fast.
