Pogo Hostel Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Pogo Hostel on Barboros Radvilaitės street, I wasn’t quite sure what I’d stumbled into. The building itself has this quirky, almost whimsical vibe that immediately tells you this isn’t your typical hostel experience. You know what struck me most? It’s actually tucked into one of those charming Old Town spots where you can practically feel the history in the cobblestones beneath your feet, but somehow the place manages to feel completely contemporary at the same time.
The thing about staying here is that you’re literally in the heart of everything that matters in Vilnius – I mean, you can wander out the front door and find yourself at Cathedral Square in maybe ten minutes on foot, and honestly, the walk through those narrow medieval streets never gets old. But here’s what I really appreciated: unlike some of the stuffier boutique places in the area, Pogo has this relaxed, almost playful energy that makes sense once you realize “pogo” probably refers to that bouncy, energetic vibe they’re going for. The common areas actually encourage you to hang out and meet people, which – let’s face it – doesn’t always happen at places trying too hard to be sophisticated. The staff seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the city too, not just going through the motions with tourist recommendations.
What really won me over, though, was how they’ve managed to create something that feels authentically local without being pretentious about it. The rooms are clean and thoughtfully designed (definitely more stylish than your average hostel), and I actually slept well despite being right in the Old Town – you’d think it might be noisy, but the medieval walls are surprisingly good at keeping street sounds to a dull murmur. Sure, it’s not going to have all the bells and whistles of some fancy hotel, and the bathrooms are functional rather than luxurious, but that’s sort of missing the point. This is the kind of place where you stay because you want to feel connected to Vilnius, not insulated from it. Plus – and this is key if you’re planning to explore – you’re within walking distance of basically everything: the cafes along Pilies Street, the bohemian Užupis district, even the quirky Republic of Užupis bridge where all the love locks are. If you’re the type of traveler who’d rather spend money on experiencing a city than on thread counts and marble bathrooms, Pogo actually makes a lot of sense.

Reviews of Pogo Hostel
Good value, easy check in, friendly staff, clean, poor sound isolation – Mézám from Hungary – August 15, 2025 (8/10)
Clean, cheap, easy to access
What could be improved: Each morning there was a loud rythmic noise that woke me up, i don’t even know what it was. Probably the biggest minus is how poor the sound isolation was, you could hear everything what was going on in the shared placesGood Hostel – Tony from United Kingdom – July 20, 2025 (8/10)
Super location, comfy beds, adequate kitchen. Good bathrooms.
Good enough and budget friendly – Manna from Kenya – August 17, 2025 (6/10)
It was okay for a one night rest.simple check in procedure
Good – Fredy from Portugal – August 14, 2025 (7/10)
The location is amazing and is clean. Kitchen is simple but enough
What could be improved: The reception could be more present at late hours in the night. People arrive searching for a place to stay and nobody picks up the phoneGood – Laura from Germany – June 10, 2025 (7/10)
Great location
What could be improved: Very old bathrooms and there was no coffee machineCheap, cheerful and in a great location. – Jeffers from United Kingdom – June 10, 2025 (6/10)
The location and price
What could be improved: The lights on the bunk beds didn't work. The bathroom showers are very cramped on the 1st floor.Very Good – Vanaga from Latvia – June 1, 2025 (8/10)
It was an amazing location! For the price value it exceeded my expectations – the whole old town and center is so close, there was no need for public transport at all, bus and railway station 20min walk away. The staff was amazing and very friendly, everything was always clean. A good deal for sure! Truly recommend if you don’t mind hostels. Truly thank you for this amazing and affordable place in the heart of the city!
What could be improved: The only thing I didn’t like is that in the high season they don’t really seperate by gender. They usually try, but for one night we had to stay with one male. It’s alright and it was all good, but it was a bit of an uncomfortable feeling. And he was snoring very loudly – i know the hostel can’t control that of course, just a con in a situation that might be avoidable if the devision was 100% guaranteed. But overall that con was not that big of a deal.Great location, set your expectations to 'acceptable' in terms of the facilities. – Robbin from United States – May 30, 2025 (8/10)
Amazing location near the main walking street and parks. Easy self check-in. Good communication through Booking. I stayed 1 night in a dorm with great light and space. Do bring earplugs in case your window faces the street.
What could be improved: Pogo could certainly use a few repairs. There is poor ventilation in the bathrooms, and I'm sure the occasional disrespectful guest has left the ones on the 2nd floor needing an update. The shower on the top floor is in great shape so I simply went upstairs. Not the best facilities but can’t beat location – Justin from United States – March 28, 2025 (7/10)
We had a room with an amazing view of Gedimina’s castle! Cannot complain about that view! Did not see a worker the 3 days we were there until it was time to check out and they want the city tax in cash. Seems to have quite a bit of noise even though almost nobody was there. I would stay here again due to the proximity and the price but the cleanliness and noise left a bit to be desired. Thanks Pogo!
Exceptional – Danielle from New Zealand – May 13, 2025 (10/10)
Perfect location in Vilnius to see the sights, friendly staff and comfortable clean facilities. Not a busy, social hostel at this time of year but good if you want your own space. Cheers
