Pogo Hostel Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Pogo Hostel honestly feels more like stepping into a boutique hotel than your typical backpacker spot. This four-star property sits right on Barboros Radvilaitės street in Vilnius Old Town, and I mean right in the thick of things — you’re literally surrounded by cobblestone streets and medieval architecture. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that immediately tells you this isn’t going to be your average hostel experience with creaky bunk beds and questionable bathrooms.

Location Magic

You know what really struck me about this place? The location is absolutely unbeatable — and apparently couples agree since they’ve rated it 9.2 for romantic trips. You can walk to Vilnius Cathedral in about three minutes, and the charming cafés along Pilies Street are practically at your doorstep. I actually spent most evenings just wandering the Old Town’s winding streets, discovering hidden courtyards and little bars that locals frequent. The fact that you’re staying in a UNESCO World Heritage site (the entire Old Town) makes even a simple coffee run feel special.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious and well-designed — nothing like the cramped quarters you might expect. Each bed comes with its own reading light and power outlets, plus there’s actual storage space for your stuff. The bathrooms are modern and clean, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re traveling. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night despite being in such a central location — the building seems well-insulated from the street noise below.

Social Atmosphere

The common areas strike this perfect balance between social and relaxed. There’s a kitchen area where people actually cook and chat (not just heat up instant noodles), and the lounge space encourages conversation without feeling forced. I met travelers from all over Europe here, but it never felt like a party hostel — more like a place where thoughtful travelers choose to stay. The staff genuinely knows the city well and gave me restaurant recommendations that were spot-on, including this little Lithuanian place tucked away in a basement that I never would’ve found otherwise.

Why Guests Love It

What sets Pogo apart is how it manages to offer hostel prices with hotel-level comfort and service. You’re getting that prime Old Town location (seriously, the location score of 9.3 isn’t just marketing fluff) without paying boutique hotel rates. The combination of being steps away from major sights while still feeling like you’re staying somewhere with character and quality — that’s not easy to find in Vilnius. Whether you’re here for a romantic weekend or solo exploring, this place just works without trying too hard to be something it’s not. Pogo Hostel truly delivers an exceptional experience that exceeds expectations.

Reviews of Pogo Hostel

  • Good enough and budget friendly – Manna from Kenya – August 17, 2025 (6/10)

It was okay for a one night rest.simple check in procedure

  • Good value, easy check in, friendly staff, clean, poor sound isolation – Mézám from Hungary – August 15, 2025 (8/10)

    Clean, cheap, easy to access

What could be improved: Each morning there was a loud rythmic noise that woke me up, i don’t even know what it was. Probably the biggest minus is how poor the sound isolation was, you could hear everything what was going on in the shared places

  • Good – Fredy from Portugal – August 14, 2025 (7/10)

The location is amazing and is clean. Kitchen is simple but enough

What could be improved: The reception could be more present at late hours in the night. People arrive searching for a place to stay and nobody picks up the phone

  • Good Hostel – Tony from United Kingdom – July 20, 2025 (8/10)

Super location, comfy beds, adequate kitchen. Good bathrooms.

  • Good – Laura from Germany – June 10, 2025 (7/10)

    Great location

What could be improved: Very old bathrooms and there was no coffee machine

  • Cheap, cheerful and in a great location. – Jeffers from United Kingdom – June 10, 2025 (6/10)

    The location and price

What could be improved: The lights on the bunk beds didn't work. The bathroom showers are very cramped on the 1st floor.

  • Very Good – Vanaga from Latvia – June 1, 2025 (8/10)

It was an amazing location! For the price value it exceeded my expectations – the whole old town and center is so close, there was no need for public transport at all, bus and railway station 20min walk away. The staff was amazing and very friendly, everything was always clean. A good deal for sure! Truly recommend if you don’t mind hostels. Truly thank you for this amazing and affordable place in the heart of the city!

What could be improved: The only thing I didn’t like is that in the high season they don’t really seperate by gender. They usually try, but for one night we had to stay with one male. It’s alright and it was all good, but it was a bit of an uncomfortable feeling. And he was snoring very loudly – i know the hostel can’t control that of course, just a con in a situation that might be avoidable if the devision was 100% guaranteed. But overall that con was not that big of a deal.

  • Great location, set your expectations to 'acceptable' in terms of the facilities. – Robbin from United States – May 30, 2025 (8/10)

Amazing location near the main walking street and parks. Easy self check-in. Good communication through Booking. I stayed 1 night in a dorm with great light and space. Do bring earplugs in case your window faces the street.

What could be improved: Pogo could certainly use a few repairs. There is poor ventilation in the bathrooms, and I'm sure the occasional disrespectful guest has left the ones on the 2nd floor needing an update. The shower on the top floor is in great shape so I simply went upstairs.

  • Exceptional – Danielle from New Zealand – May 13, 2025 (10/10)

Perfect location in Vilnius to see the sights, friendly staff and comfortable clean facilities. Not a busy, social hostel at this time of year but good if you want your own space. Cheers

  • Not the best facilities but can’t beat location – Justin from United States – March 28, 2025 (7/10)

We had a room with an amazing view of Gedimina’s castle! Cannot complain about that view! Did not see a worker the 3 days we were there until it was time to check out and they want the city tax in cash. Seems to have quite a bit of noise even though almost nobody was there. I would stay here again due to the proximity and the price but the cleanliness and noise left a bit to be desired. Thanks Pogo!
