Oldtown Apartment studio #D Overview

Look, I’ve stayed in my share of Vilnius accommodations, but Oldtown Apartment studio #D on Šiltadaržio street really caught me off guard – in the best possible way. You know how sometimes you book a place based on photos and cross your fingers? Well, this little studio actually delivered on everything it promised, plus some things the listing couldn’t quite capture.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of Old Town without dealing with the tourist chaos on Pilies street. Šiltadaržio is one of those quiet cobblestone lanes that feels authentically medieval – you’ll hear your footsteps echo off the buildings when you come home late from dinner. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Cathedral Square, but tucked away enough that you won’t have tour groups chattering outside your window at 8am. The building itself has that worn-in character you hope for in Vilnius – thick walls that keep things surprisingly quiet (trust me, this matters when your neighbors are other travelers), and these gorgeous old architectural details that remind you you’re sleeping in a city that’s been around for centuries.

What really impressed me was how thoughtfully designed the studio is. It’s small, sure, but everything has its place, and honestly, after spending days wandering around the UNESCO streets, you just want somewhere clean and comfortable to crash. The kitchenette is actually functional – I made coffee every morning and even managed a simple dinner one night when I was too tired to venture out to Užupis for restaurant hunting. The bathroom is modern enough to feel fresh but doesn’t clash with the old-world vibe of the building. Actually, the whole place strikes this nice balance between historical charm and contemporary comfort that so many Vilnius rentals mess up.

Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward waiting around or hunting for key boxes. The host clearly knows what they’re doing, which shows in all the little details. There’s decent WiFi (tested it extensively while planning day trips to Trakai), the heating works properly (crucial if you’re visiting outside summer), and the bed is actually comfortable, not just acceptable. You know what surprised me most though? The light. These old buildings can be pretty dark, but this studio gets lovely natural light during the day, especially in the morning.

If you’re the type who needs a big hotel lobby and room service, this obviously isn’t your spot. But if you want to feel like you’re actually living in Vilnius Old Town rather than just visiting it – waking up on a quiet historic street, grabbing pastries from the little bakery around the corner, taking evening walks past St. Anne’s Church – this place nails that experience. The 9.2 rating makes complete sense once you’re there. It’s one of those rare finds where the reality matches the promise, and in a city where accommodation can be hit-or-miss, that’s worth quite a lot.

Reviews of Oldtown Apartment studio #D

  • Exceptional – Assylbek from Kazakhstan – August 5, 2025 (10/10)

Self-service, all necessary things for short stay, the apartment is located close to old town, river and sightseeings.

What could be improved: Window view

  • Exceptional – Jovana from Serbia – June 11, 2025 (10/10)

I went to a conference and did not get the chance to be in the apartment much except during the night, so my impressions would be the following:
    – excellent location
    – very quiet apartment
    – Netflix on tv
    – good shower

What could be improved: The apartment is on the last (second) floor so the ceiling in the corridor is a bit lower in some areas, which might pose problem for tall people. In the apartment, the ceiling height is normal everywhere.

  • Great comfortable apartment, good location, perfect for our stay – Vicki from Australia – May 29, 2025 (9/10)

Easy to find, good location, comfortable, clean perfect our stay

  • Had a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city – Idzelė from Lithuania – December 20, 2024 (10/10)

I recently stayed in a studio apartment and was thoroughly impressed. Compact size, the space was well-furnished and efficiently laid out, making the most of every inch. The bed was comfortable, and the sofa added a cozy touch. The kitchenette, though small, had everything needed for simple meals, including a stovetop, microwave, and fridge.

The apartment’s location was ideal, right in the heart of the city with easy access to shops, cafes, and public transport. It was surprisingly quiet because windows are to the side of inner yard. Had a peaceful retreat in lively area.

A standout feature of my stay was the host. He was incredibly friendly and responsive, always ensuring that I had everything I needed. From providing clear instructions for check-in to offering great local recommendations, their communication made the entire experience feel seamless and welcoming. It’s rare to encounter such a genuinely kind and attentive host, and it made my stay even more enjoyable.

Best of all, the price was excellent for the value offered. Given the quality, comfort, and prime location, this apartment is a fantastic option for anyone looking for a well-located stay for city exploration.

The host is communicating very friendly Highly recommended!

  • Very Good – Gintare from Ireland – May 11, 2025 (8/10)

Generally nice apartment…has everything you would need for a short term stay

What could be improved: Television is not programmed with any channels..only has hdmi connection so if you bring your own device or a USB you can watch something.
The ironing board was very hard to use and unstable.

Other than that everything is pretty standard.

  • Excellent location in the heart of the city – Kristina from Lithuania – August 12, 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location, very calm and nice neighborhood. Stylish and comfortable, everything is in the flat.

What could be improved: Bad smell from the sink and shower, dust and not cleaned paintings, pictures, corners.

  • Exceptional – Robert from Poland – August 21, 2025 (10/10)

Wszystko było w jak najlepszym porządku. Samo centrum miasta. Apartament przewyższył moje oczekiwania. A i gospodarze byli bardzo uczynni. Gorąco polecam.

    What could be improved: –

  • Puiku💯💯 – Auksė from Lithuania – December 24, 2024 (10/10)

Viskas puikiai, švaru, labai gera lokacija, draugiški šeimininkai. 10/10
