Pilies Street with all its amber shops and cafes is right there, and you can walk to Gediminas Tower in about ten minutes if you don’t mind the uphill climb. But here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you – being on Trakų means you’re close enough to duck into Užupis (the quirky artist republic district) whenever you want, and it’s actually quieter than staying right on the main drag. I loved being able to grab morning coffee from that little place on Aušros Vartų and then wander back through the cobblestone streets without feeling like I was fighting crowds of tour groups.

The 9.8 rating honestly makes sense once you’ve stayed there. It’s not fancy in that over-the-top way some hotels try to be, but everything just… works. The Wi-Fi is solid (crucial when you’re trying to figure out which local restaurant to try next), the beds are comfortable, and the whole place feels clean and well-maintained. Plus, there’s something refreshing about not having to make small talk with front desk staff when you roll in late after exploring Trakai Castle or sampling too much local beer in the old town bars. Apartamentai erdvūs, tvarkingi ir jaukūs – jautėmės itin komfortiškai. Čia yra visi reikalingi daiktai, o kiekviena smulkmena apgalvota taip, kad svečiai jaustųsi kaip namie.
