What really got me was how they’ve kept some of the original architectural details – exposed beams, that sort of thing – without making it feel like you’re sleeping in a museum.

Location-wise, you’re seriously spoiled here. Pilies Street with all its amber shops and cafes is basically around the corner, and you can walk to Cathedral Square in maybe five minutes if you’re not stopping to gawk at every medieval doorway. I actually spent most evenings just wandering the narrow streets nearby – there’s this little courtyard behind St. Anne’s Church that most tourists miss, and you’ll stumble across it naturally from this spot. The morning light hitting those red tile roofs from the apartment windows is something else, honestly. Parking can be a bit tricky in Old Town (it always is), but they give you proper directions and there are options within walking distance. The 8.9 rating makes total sense when you experience how smoothly everything runs – it’s not fancy enough to be intimidating, but everything works exactly as it should. The neighborhood gets pleasantly quiet after the day-trippers head back to their hotels, so you get that authentic feeling of actually living in this incredible historic area rather than just passing through it.

  What could be improved: Be cautious with this host – especially if you're traveling for business.
  When booking, I clearly stated that this was a business trip and that I would need an invoice for my company. The host gave no indication that they would refuse to provide one. I asked again later – no reply – and only on the last night did they inform me that they wouldn't issue an invoice, despite charging 21% VAT.
  
  This is deceptive. If the host had been upfront, I would never have booked – they withheld this to secure the reservation. Now they claim the VAT was added by Booking.com, not by them. If true, that would mean they’re accusing Booking.com of tax fraud. Either way, something is clearly wrong.
  
  Additionally, the apartment is impractical: there's no proper storage or wardrobe (only a cabinet with cleaning supplies), so you must keep your clothes in your suitcase or on a chair.
