New Town Home 1 Overview

So I stumbled across New Town Home 1 on Vivulskio Street, and honestly? It’s one of those places that surprises you in the best way. You know how sometimes you book somewhere just because the location works, and then it turns out to actually have character? That’s what happened here.

The thing about staying in Naujamiestis is that you’re right in the thick of things without the tourist chaos of Old Town – and this little 3-star spot really gets that balance right. I mean, you’re literally a 10-minute walk from the cathedral and all that medieval stuff, but when you come home at night, it’s actually quiet. Well, mostly quiet. Vivulskio can get a bit lively on weekend evenings, but nothing that decent windows can’t handle. The staff here seem to really know their neighborhood too – they pointed me toward this tiny coffee place around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise, and honestly, it became my morning ritual.

What I loved about this place is that it feels more like staying in someone’s well-kept apartment than a typical hotel. The rooms have this sort of homey vibe – not fancy, but everything’s thoughtfully done. The beds are actually comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss that can be), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. Plus, they’ve got decent Wi-Fi throughout, which saved me when I needed to catch up on work one rainy afternoon. The breakfast situation is pretty solid too – nothing elaborate, but fresh bread, local cheese, and coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since dawn. I actually found myself lingering over breakfast most mornings, which says something since I’m usually a grab-and-go person.

The location really can’t be beat if you want to experience Vilnius like someone who lives there. You’ve got the river just a few blocks south, which is perfect for morning jogs, and the business district is right there if you need banks or pharmacies or whatever. But here’s the thing locals know – you’re also perfectly positioned to explore beyond the tourist bubble. I took their recommendation to check out the Republic of Užupis (that quirky artist district), and it was maybe a 15-minute walk through some really beautiful residential streets. Parking can be a bit tricky on Vivulskio itself, but there are spots on the side streets if you’re driving, and honestly, you won’t need a car much from here anyway.

Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but with a 7.9 rating, it’s clearly doing something right. What it does is give you a genuine taste of Vilnius life while keeping you close enough to all the must-see stuff. The price point feels fair for what you get, and the whole experience just feels… authentic, I guess? Like you’re staying somewhere that cares about getting the basics right rather than impressing you with unnecessary bells and whistles.

Reviews of New Town Home 1

  • Good location, spa-like bathroom. – K from United States – July 24, 2025 (9/10)

The soaking tub and shower were amazing.

What could be improved: Need to provide own cooking pot/pan.

  • Allthough it was good – Dumitru from Romania – June 3, 2025 (9/10)

The design of room and location was pretty good, even for 2 people this room was enough actually, thanks to owner that he allowed me to came there with my friend even that the room was dedicated only for 1 person, just paid an extra price and the problem was solved

What could be improved: Maybe the size of room should be bigger, in the bathroom shoud be a carpet on the floor because it gonna be easier not to spread the water

  • 7/10 because location really good, near city centre, pet friendly, but communication with host was terrible. – Arūnas from Lithuania – April 19, 2025 (7/10)

Everything was ok, clean and nice small room with double bed, allowed with pets.

What could be improved: Very small shower cabin, and communication with host.

  • One of the best options in the city for the budget. – Artur from United Kingdom – July 20, 2025 (8/10)

Great location, beautifull street, loads of plases to eat and hang in around. Property is easy to find. You get personal space and a private bathroom. There are good towels, shower gel/shampoo, soap, kettle provided. Although the bathroom is very small, it's still usable, if you are not to big. Overall it's one of the best options for the budget.

What could be improved: The room is very small, and the cieling is very low in the far end of the room. Wouldn't recomend this room to older people who struggle to bend down. There was no water in the kitchen tap, just in the bathroom. You have to make your bed: put duvet covet and pilow case on.
All of the above are minor imperfections and they didn't cause much frustration.

  • Very Good – Helen from United Kingdom – July 18, 2025 (8/10)

The room was clean and attractive. I had a beautiful view of a garden which I could access. The area is very quiet, but walking distance from all the main sights.

What could be improved: I couldn't open my windows, which made the room very stuffy.

  • Good – Joe from United Kingdom – July 8, 2025 (7/10)

Clean, close to centre, good value for money.

What could be improved: Fridge wasn't working (another review states they needed to pay for it) and the communication was very bad.

Also, the bathroom is TINY. If you're an overweight person, you legit won't fit on the toilet.

  • Very good location and money value – Gailė from Lithuania – January 8, 2025 (9/10)

    Very good location.

What could be improved: The rooms was extremly cold and took 3 hours to warm up.

  • Only for 1 day – Dániel from Hungary – July 12, 2025 (7/10)

Location based on price is perfect, supermarket is really close and there is a good Italian restaurant next to the hotel

What could be improved: The room is really uncomfortable, the wall is really thin, the bedroom is small, honestly I almost stuck in there 😂 and they didn’t make the bed just put everything on the bed and do it your self.

So if you need a room for 1 day it’s fine but I recommend better quality for longer stay

  • Very Good – Daniel from Germany – May 18, 2025 (8/10)

    great location to explore Vilnius

What could be improved: I was too big for bathroom. could hardly fit on toilet and didn't shower because shower was too small for me

  • Alright for a short stay – Ann-katrin from Germany – February 16, 2025 (7/10)

The rooms were pretty clean- at least on the first look
The ceiling was crumbling onto the bed and some water stains as well as small bugs were on the floor.
We got one single room updated to a double room without asking for it (but the owner asked for a tip)
Late check out was possible (for a fee of 5€/hour)

What could be improved: The owner was not available on the phone. He was only texting in Lithuanian. Not even trying to use a translator
We had big issues with the check in because the key locker wouldn’t open (due to the cold probably) so we were standing outside in the cold, nobody picked up the phone and after a while a guy showed up and acted like we’re too stupid to open it. After using a lot of power he managed to open it but didn’t say a single word
One of the cards was also not working and he was clearly annoyed that he had to solve the problem
Again not a word of apology.
Both rooms were extremely cold and even if the heater (ac) was running the whole time the room would not warm up
