You know what really surprised me about MyCasa Paupys? For a 3-star place, it honestly feels like they’re trying way harder than most hotels in its category. I mean, that 9.2 rating isn’t just floating around for no reason – there’s something genuinely thoughtful happening here that you notice pretty much from the moment you walk in.

The whole vibe is sort of like staying at a friend’s well-designed apartment, if that friend happened to have really good taste and actually cared about details. The staff – and I’m talking about everyone, not just front desk – seem to actually remember your name after the first day, which is refreshing when you’re used to being just another room number. I was there during what seemed like a busy period, and even then, check-in was smooth without that rushed feeling you sometimes get. The rooms themselves have this clean, minimalist thing going on that doesn’t feel sterile or cold. Actually, the lighting is what got me – it’s warm enough that you don’t feel like you’re in an office building, and there are these little touches (decent coffee setup, proper hangers, outlets where you actually need them) that tell you someone thought about how people really use hotel rooms.

What I really appreciated was the honest approach to everything. Look, it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but what it does, it does well. The beds are genuinely comfortable – not just marketing comfortable – and the bathrooms are spotless with water pressure that actually works. There’s this attention to basics that feels rare these days. The neighborhood itself is pretty solid too; you’re not stuck in some tourist bubble, but you’re also not wandering around wondering where to grab decent food. I found myself walking around in the evenings just because the area felt safe and interesting, with that mix of local spots and places that welcome travelers without being touristy. Honestly, the whole experience felt like they understand the difference between hospitality and just… running a hotel, if that makes sense. It’s the kind of place where you’d actually want to come back, not because it’s flashy or Instagram-perfect, but because it just works really well for what it is.
