Moon Garden Old Town Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Moon Garden Old Town Hotel, you immediately sense you’ve found something special tucked away on Bazilijonų street. The building itself feels like it belongs here — not some modern chain that could be anywhere, but actually part of Vilnius Old Town’s fabric. I mean, when you’re staying in a UNESCO World Heritage site, you want your hotel to feel authentic, and this four-star property delivers on that front. The entrance has this understated elegance that hints at what’s inside without being flashy about it.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, the location is probably the hotel’s strongest card — and that’s saying something because everything else is pretty solid too. You’re literally in the heart of the Old Town, which means cobblestone streets, medieval architecture, and those little surprises around every corner that make Vilnius so charming. What I love is that you can walk to Cathedral Square in about five minutes, but you’re not dealing with the noise and crowds that come with being right on the main drag. The couples who stay here seem to get it — they’ve rated the location 9.5, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about stepping out your door and immediately being surrounded by centuries-old buildings and hidden courtyards.
The Rooms & Comfort
The rooms strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and respecting the building’s character. You’ll find everything you need without feeling like you’re in some sterile business hotel — the design feels thoughtful rather than generic. What really impressed me was how quiet everything stays despite being in the city center. The Old Town can get lively, especially during summer evenings, but somehow the hotel manages to feel like a peaceful retreat. I noticed they have quite a few repeat guests, which honestly tells you more about a place than any official rating ever could.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup here is refreshingly flexible — they’ve got the full buffet spread when you want to linger over coffee and plan your day, but also continental options and even breakfast to go if you’re the type who likes to grab something and explore early. I appreciate that kind of adaptability, especially when you’re in a city like Vilnius where the morning light hitting those baroque facades is absolutely worth getting up early for. The quality is solid without being pretentious, and the staff seems to actually care about getting the details right.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Moon Garden Old Town Hotel — and trust me, there are more repeat visitors here than at most places — is how it manages to feel both special and comfortable. You’re not paying for unnecessary frills, but you’re getting genuine quality in the things that actually matter: location, service, and that intangible sense of being somewhere authentic. It’s the kind of place where you can spend your days wandering Vilnius’s winding streets and churches, then come back to somewhere that feels like a proper home base rather than just a place to sleep. For couples especially, there’s something about the combination of Old Town romance and modern comfort that just works.

Reviews of Moon Garden Old Town Hotel
Comfortable and stylish, in a great location for further adventures – Adam from United Kingdom – August 17, 2025 (8/10)
Right on the edge of the old town, so you got the vibe without being surrounded only by tourists, some nice local restaurants nearby. Also closer to the central bus and train stations which was great for trips to kaunas and trakai.
What could be improved: Rooms were tidied but not necessarily cleaned daily, we had a weird experience coming back to the hotel finding half a made bed. Didn't bother us though, we hadn't requested a cleaning. But it was a little odd.Very Good – Noel from Ireland – August 13, 2025 (8/10)
Good location and a great restaurant across the road
What could be improved: Air conditioning was broken
Don’t be in a rush if looking for cooked breakfast as service is slowLiked it a lot! – Gunta from Latvia – August 2, 2025 (9/10)
It was a lovely and cozy place. The location was great!
What could be improved: There were no outlets next to the beds and the lamps that run on battery were out of battery, we didn’t have the kind of charger needed, so we couldn’t use the little lamps.Wonderful place to stay in Vilnius – Fiona from Sweden – July 31, 2025 (10/10)
Everything is perfect, friendly staff. Room is clean and big. Location is super close to the Old Town. Take 9min walk to central station. Highly recommend! I will book it again when I come back Vilnius.
What could be improved: NothingGreat location and exceptional reception staff – Simon from United Kingdom – July 20, 2025 (8/10)
We thought the reception staff were exceptional. They were friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to help. The location was perfect for access to The Old Town, bus stop, train station and airport. There was a calm atmosphere in reception and our room, in the rear on floor 3 was extremely quiet. A great choice.
What could be improved: Rooms were serviced only between 1300 and 1700 which we found a little inconvenient after being out all morning in The Old Town. It is nice to return to a made up room.Exceptional – Iche from Israel – July 20, 2025 (10/10)
Exceptional service, great location, more than a fair price, definitely gonna come back when in town
Very Good – Stephen from United Kingdom – July 18, 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: Can’t think of anything worth mentioning. It’s not the ritz but does what you need.Great stay, location and staff – Priya from United Kingdom – June 25, 2025 (9/10)
Room and location
What could be improved: Not much, room needs a ful length mirror. We didn't choose breakfast because we needed more plantbased options.Great place to stay and would definitely stay there again. – Simon from United Kingdom – June 24, 2025 (8/10)
Moon Garden delivered everything i expected. Comfortable bed, decent internet and plenty of hot water. Excellent location within easy walkiung distance of the old town.
