Moon Garden Boutique Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Moon Garden Boutique Hotel feels like discovering a well-kept secret tucked away on a quiet cobblestone street in Vilnius Old Town. The building itself has this understated elegance — you know, the kind of place that doesn’t need to shout about how special it is. I mean, when you’re literally steps away from the cathedral and Gediminas Tower, the location sort of speaks for itself. This four-star boutique property has that intimate feel you just can’t get at larger hotels, with only a handful of rooms that make it feel more like staying at a stylish friend’s place.
The Heart of Old Town
Honestly, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Europe, but this location is something else entirely. You’re basically in the center of everything that matters in Vilnius — I could walk to the Gates of Dawn in about five minutes, and the main shopping street is right there when you step outside. What I really appreciated was how quiet Bazilijonų street stays despite being so central. The couples who stay here clearly get it (they rate the location 9.6, which honestly makes perfect sense), because there’s something genuinely romantic about wandering these medieval streets at night and knowing your cozy room is just around the corner.
The Room Experience
The rooms here strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and respecting the building’s historic character. I stayed in one of their standard rooms, and while it wasn’t huge, everything felt thoughtfully designed — from the locally-sourced artwork to the way they’ve managed to fit in all the amenities without making the space feel cramped. The bathroom was actually quite spacious (always a pleasant surprise in Old Town properties), and the bed was one of those where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed whole. You can tell they’ve put real thought into the details, like the reading lights that actually work and blackout curtains that, well, actually black out the room.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is one of those experiences that sets the tone for your entire day in Vilnius. They offer continental and buffet options, plus this brilliant breakfast-to-go concept if you’re planning an early morning adventure to Trakai or something. What impressed me most was the quality — fresh local pastries, proper coffee (not that watery hotel stuff), and they actually had some Lithuanian specialties mixed in with the international options. The breakfast room overlooks a small courtyard garden, which explains the “Moon Garden” name and gives you this peaceful start before you dive into exploring the city’s bustling streets.
Why Guests Love It
There’s a reason this place has so many repeat visitors — it’s that rare combination of location, character, and genuine hospitality that’s hard to find. The staff actually remembers your preferences (I’m talking about real attention to detail, not just writing your name on a whiteboard), and the 8.8 rating feels completely earned. You’re paying for that boutique experience where every detail matters, from the way they’ve preserved the building’s historic elements to how they’ve created this little oasis in one of Europe’s most beautiful old towns. If you want to feel like you’re truly experiencing Vilnius rather than just visiting it, this is exactly the kind of place that makes that happen.
Apartments in Vilnius provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Lithuanian markets and cook with regional Baltic specialties.

I really appreciated the administrator helping me out with the suitcase when she saw I was pregnant and travelling with my 6 y.o. son. Really thankful for that!
The room was clean and cozy, and the location is very fortunate also: a 5 min walk to the city center and all the restaurants, but easily reachable by taxi.Arslan from Turkey (9/10)
A small boutique hotel which has keyless etrance to hotel and rooms. Also, they have open reception day time. Very close to old town and main train station. Reception is very helpful. Breakfast has no too many foods, but you find enough.. Also room designs are very good.
Gabriela from Sweden (8/10)
I liked that the room looked non-generic, had a kitchen corner and there were some extra useful appliances in the bathroom. The staff was helpful. The check in was a breeze. Also, shout out for two smaller blankets on a double bed rather than one large!
