The apartment sits on the first floor of this quiet residential building, and honestly, that turned out to be perfect – no lugging suitcases up multiple flights, and you can practically step outside and be at the lake’s edge in about thirty seconds. The whole Gilužio area has this peaceful, almost suburban feel that’s completely different from Vilnius’s busy Old Town (which is only about a 15-minute drive away, by the way). I loved opening the windows in the morning and actually hearing birds instead of traffic – something you don’t get much of when you’re staying in the city center. The lake itself isn’t huge, but it’s clean and surprisingly pretty, especially in the late afternoon when the light hits the water just right.

What really impressed me was how thoughtfully set up everything was inside. I mean, it’s called “modern apartment” and they weren’t kidding around – the kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to cook (which I did, after hitting up the little grocery store about five minutes down the road). The Wi-Fi was solid, the shower had proper water pressure, and there were enough outlets near the bed for all my devices. Small things, sure, but they add up when you’re trying to feel settled somewhere. The whole place felt clean without that sterile hotel smell, more like staying at a friend’s well-kept place. I did notice some street noise during the day, but nothing that bothered me – just normal neighborhood sounds, and it gets pretty quiet after dark. Parking was straightforward too, which honestly saved me a headache since I had a rental car.

That 9.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s one of those places that just works without any drama or surprises. You’re getting solid value, a genuinely peaceful setting, and easy access to both the lake and the city when you want either one. Perfect if you’re looking for somewhere to actually relax rather than just crash between tourist activities.

  We had everything we needed for a short stay. The bad was comfortable, sofa for the kids was also fine. All the kitchen appliances were useful, also there was a tasty coffee and a coffee maker. The apartment was very clean and the neighbourhood is quiet.
