The neighborhood has this authentic residential vibe that most tourists never see, and you’re actually only about 15 minutes from the center by foot if you cut through the quiet side streets.

The place doesn’t have an official star rating because, well, it sort of defies the usual hotel categories. It’s more like staying at your incredibly stylish Lithuanian aunt’s house – if your aunt happened to have impeccable taste and a thing for thoughtful design details. The family that runs it (I’m guessing the Irena it’s named after, though I never asked) clearly put serious thought into every corner. You know those places where everything just feels intentional? The morning light hits the breakfast nook just right, there’s always soft music playing that somehow matches your mood, and the coffee – I mean, they actually know how to make proper coffee, not that watery hotel stuff. The rooms have this cozy-but-not-cramped thing going on, with local textiles and artwork that feels genuine rather than decorator-picked.

What really sold me though was the little things that show someone actually cares. Fresh flowers that get changed regularly, not just when they’re completely dead. A small selection of local books and maps in the common area. The kind of shower pressure that makes you want to high-five someone. And parking – which, if you’ve ever driven in Vilnius, you’ll appreciate – is actually sorted without the usual urban nightmare. The 9.5 rating it’s got makes total sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be a fancy resort, but everything it does attempt, it nails perfectly. I ended up extending my stay by two nights, partly because I was comfortable, but mostly because I kept thinking “just one more morning with that breakfast setup and those perfect coffee cups.” Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t announce themselves with big signs and star ratings – they just quietly do everything right and let word of mouth handle the rest.

  We really liked Irena's apartment. The hostess welcomed us warmly, and we chatted with her about life in Lithuania. She prepared a larger room for us than we had booked. The house has a large kitchen-dining room with everything you need to prepare a snack. Everything is clean and tidy. There is a parking lot near the house, but we didn't have a car. It takes about 5-7 minutes (5€) to get to the airport or bus station by taxi. The walk to the airport is 20-25 minutes.25 minutes. There is a large grocery store nearby.   Great accommodation with a homely atmosphere and thoughtful details that make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. My family room was quite large, and the small table in the centre added a homely touch. Everything in the room and bathroom was perfectly clean and tastefully selected. The photos on the website are completely true to life. You can use the large kitchen with all the necessary utensils. The house is located a little bit away from the road, so it was perfectly quiet at night. The comfortable bed allows you to have a good rest.
