Imperial Hotel & Restaurant Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Imperial Hotel & Restaurant on Subačiaus Street, you immediately sense you’re somewhere special. This five-star property sits right in the heart of Vilnius Old Town, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — I mean, you’re literally surrounded by cobblestone streets and medieval architecture. The building itself has this elegant, understated luxury that doesn’t scream for attention but definitely commands respect.
Location & Old Town Charm
Here’s what I love about staying here — you can walk to pretty much everything that matters in Vilnius Old Town. The Cathedral Square is just a few minutes away, and you’re close enough to hear the bells from the cathedral tower (which is actually quite nice in the morning). Couples absolutely rave about this spot, and I get why — there’s something romantic about stepping out your door and being immediately immersed in centuries-old streets. You know what’s great? You can explore the narrow alleys and hidden courtyards without dealing with the hassle of getting back to some distant hotel.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was genuinely impressive — and I’m someone who’s pretty picky about beds. They weren’t kidding about the comfort level; I actually slept better here than I have in months. The luxury touches are there without being over the top, and everything feels thoughtfully designed rather than just expensive for the sake of it. The windows look out onto either the charming street below or the quiet courtyard, depending on which room you get. The furnishings are modern yet timeless, with premium linens and climate control that works flawlessly.
Dining & Breakfast
The restaurant downstairs is actually a destination in itself — locals eat here, which is always a good sign. For breakfast, they offer both a buffet setup and grab-and-go options, which is perfect if you want to get an early start exploring. I appreciated having choices because some mornings you want to linger over coffee, and other days you’re eager to get out and see the city. The quality is what you’d expect from a luxury property, but it doesn’t feel stuffy or pretentious. The culinary team sources local ingredients and creates seasonal menus that reflect Lithuanian traditions.
Why Guests Love It
What really strikes me is how many people come back here — there’s definitely a loyal following, and after staying here myself, I understand why. It’s that rare combination of prime location, genuine comfort, and service that feels personal rather than corporate. The staff seems to actually know the neighborhood and can point you toward things you might miss otherwise. If you’re looking for a base to explore Vilnius Old Town without compromising on comfort, this place delivers exactly what it promises — no more, no less, but done exceptionally well. The attention to detail throughout the property ensures every guest feels genuinely valued.

Reviews of Imperial Hotel & Restaurant

Our stay at the Imperial Hotel was amazing! The hotel itself is very elegant and clean through and through. The rooms have a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a classy style. The staff is welcoming, helpful, and informative, especially Olga who was always enthusiastic about recommendations, directions, and how we were enjoying our stay. The California bar staff is fun and energetic. The location I don't think could be any better. My first couple hours at the hotel I sat outside the California bar and ate a well cooked grilled steak while staring across an Old Town Square while listening to live Jazz musicians in the shadow of the Lithuania National Philharmonic Building bold and elegant architecture. I now understand the hotels decorated history and I cannot recommend staying here enough. We will definitely stay again.

The imperial hotel was definitely the nicest we stayed in on this trip to Europe. The hotel rooms had amazing cold ac that was on when we entered the room. It was clean and had a great coffee machine in the room. The bathroom was large and had a tub. The twin beds were actually two separate beds, definitely not something we experienced elsewhere. The breakfast was not as huge as many hotels, but it was tasty and had plenty of options. The location is right in the middle of everything. The price was also really reasonable.

The staff were very friendly, helped to show info on where to go etc. Breakfast was great to start the day, ala carte menu to choose and service was quick. Location of the hotel was perfect at the south side of the old town, less than 2 mins walk to the Gates of Dawn.
Rooms were old style architecture design etc but everything worked well.
Hotel gave a discount voucher to use at their restaurant, but didnt have the time, pity. Though that counts, still!
Good stay
