Igo apartment Uzupis Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Igo apartment Uzupis, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Užupis isn’t exactly on every tourist’s radar, and that’s actually what makes this place so brilliant. You know that feeling when you stumble onto something that feels like a local secret? That’s exactly what staying here is like.
The apartment sits right in the heart of what locals call the “Republic of Užupis” – and yes, it’s actually a self-declared republic with its own constitution nailed to a wall nearby (honestly, go read it, it’s surprisingly moving). What struck me immediately was how the building itself feels authentically Lithuanian without trying too hard. The entrance has that sturdy, no-nonsense vibe you get in this part of Vilnius, but once you’re inside, there’s this unexpected warmth. The apartment is genuinely comfortable – I mean, you’ll actually want to hang out here rather than just crash between sightseeing. The 8.6 rating makes total sense because while it’s not trying to be luxury, everything just… works. Hot water stays hot, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out during your video calls home, and the bed is actually good for sleeping (you’d be surprised how rare that is in some European apartments).
But here’s what really got me – step outside and you’re literally surrounded by the quirkiest neighborhood in Vilnius. There’s this tiny café called Užupio Kavinė maybe two minutes away where the barista knows everyone’s order, and the Vilnia River is right there if you want to sit by the water with a book. The whole area has this artsy, bohemian thing going on without feeling pretentious about it. Street art everywhere, little galleries tucked into courtyards, and honestly some of the best people-watching in the city. Parking can be a bit of a dance – it’s that narrow European street situation – but there are spots if you’re patient. Noise-wise, it’s surprisingly quiet at night considering you’re so close to the action. I stayed here in late spring when things were picking up, and even then it felt peaceful after about 10 PM. The only thing I’d mention is that if you’re looking for hotel-style services, this obviously isn’t that – but if you want to feel like you’re actually living in one of Vilnius’s most character-filled neighborhoods for a few days, with a place that genuinely feels like home base, then this is exactly what you’re looking for. Plus, you can walk to the main old town in about fifteen minutes, which means you get the best of both worlds without paying old town prices.

I absolutely loved the location and the fact that we got to enjoy both the city centre and Užupis as everything was in a walking distance. Also checking in was so simple and easy especially as we arrived quite late in the evening. The apartment was clean, cosy and stocked with all appliances and things you need for a comfortable stay!

the location was great, there is a Iki supermarket not even 1 minute away, there is a bus stop less than 5 minutes away and the bridge that you cross is a landmark in Vilnius, with a swing above the river. The apartment is clean and comfortable just as described. I recommend with both my hands to stay there even for a longer stay, because it has a washing machine.

The location was perfect. Very central but calm at the same time as all the windows give to the interiour yard. The communication with the owner, the arrival went very smoothly. We also appreciated the flexibility of owner (on the arrival time).
