Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Hotel Zemaites, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots end up surprising you, and this one definitely did that. There’s something refreshingly straightforward about it, like they’re not trying to be something they’re not, which I actually appreciate after staying at too many places that overpromise and underdeliver.

The thing that really struck me about Zemaites (and locals will tell you the same thing) is how it feels authentically Lithuanian without being kitschy about it. The staff – honestly, some of the most genuinely helpful people I’ve encountered – seem to actually know their city inside and out. I mean, the front desk guy gave me directions to this little bakery that wasn’t in any guidebook, and it ended up being one of those perfect travel moments you can’t really plan for. The rooms are clean and comfortable in that no-nonsense European way, though I will say the shower pressure could use some work – not terrible, just sort of adequate. But the beds are surprisingly good, and after walking around cobblestone streets all day, that matters more than fancy marble countertops.

What really sets this place apart is the location and the vibe. You’re close enough to the old town that you can walk everywhere that matters, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tour bus noise at 7 AM (trust me on this one – I’ve made that mistake before). The breakfast is simple but solid – fresh bread, local cheeses, coffee that’s actually hot when it should be. Nothing Instagram-worthy, but it gets the job done and feels real. I noticed a lot of repeat guests during my stay, which tells you something about the place. These aren’t people chasing luxury; they’re travelers who value consistency and authenticity over flashy amenities. The 8.1 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  I like the hotel in total. But I was not satisfied with the room. It was very hot and it was working system( maybe from bathroom) with very loud sound during all night.

  Good location and close to the most places of interest, airport and bus/train station are 7-10 min drive. Lidl shop just in front of the hotel which is very convenient. Breakfast is not to bad, but it used to be better years ago.
  Sauna and swimming pool very good and reasonable price as well.
