Hook Studios Vilnius Old Town Economy Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Hook Studios Vilnius Old Town Economy? The name makes it sound like some bare-bones crash pad, but honestly, this place punches way above its weight class. I mean, sure, it’s got that minimalist studio vibe going on, but when you’re literally on Kauno Street in the heart of Old Town, who needs fancy lobbies anyway?
The location is honestly ridiculous – and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re basically a two-minute stumble from Cathedral Square, and I swear you can hear the church bells from some of the rooms (which is either charming or annoying at 7 AM, depending on your night before). What I really appreciated was how quiet it actually gets once you’re inside, considering you’re smack in the middle of everything. The cobblestones outside do their thing with the occasional late-night reveler, but the windows do a decent job keeping most of it out. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that overly formal hotel dance, just efficient and friendly.
Here’s the thing about staying right in Vilnius Old Town: you’re going to pay for the privilege, but Hook Studios somehow keeps it reasonable without feeling like you’re roughing it. The studios themselves are clean and thoughtfully designed, sort of like someone took an IKEA showroom and made it actually livable. I particularly loved having a proper kitchenette – nothing fancy, but when you want to grab some local cheese and bread from the market near Pilies Street and have breakfast without dealing with restaurant crowds, it’s perfect. The whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying in a hotel, which honestly works better for exploring the city anyway. You’re not tied to meal times or feeling obligated to hang around the property. Plus, with an 8.4 rating, I wasn’t the only one who felt like they’d stumbled onto something good here. It’s that sweet spot where you get the authentic Old Town experience without the tourist trap pricing or the backpacker hostel chaos.

Reviews of Hook Studios Vilnius Old Town Economy
Clean, central, as described – Ian from United States – August 17, 2025 (9/10)
It was clean and the location was great. The description was accurate.
The place is shockingly small. Consider it a challenge and a psychological experiment on yourself.
I recommend that short people stay here and develop some empathy for what tall people have to tolerate in normal-sized places every day.
What could be improved: There were too many emails after I made the booking and during my stay. On booking, a guest pays all costs including taxes when making the reservation. However, I was sent an email and I had to sign a form promising to pay the tax that I had already paid. Of course this was needless and there was nothing more to it. I had to fill out forms and give the same information that I gave booking, even my email address. And guess how I got the form? Via email 🙂 The Soviet mindset and love of paperwork lives on.Wonderful – B from Lithuania – July 7, 2025 (9/10)
All was comfortable
What could be improved: No idea, all was goodA perfect place to stay for a solo traveler – Edgaras from Lithuania – May 26, 2025 (9/10)
I was impressed with professionalism and attention to details with this apartment hotel. Their app was easy to use and had multiple options to book early check-in and late check-out plus other useful information. Location was excellent- next to train and bus stations. I walked everywhere in the city on foot. Multiple great bars and restaurants around. Few of the biggest supermarkets in the city around 10 mins walk away. Apartment was modern, super clean and practical. Little space was perfectly organised with everything you might need for a short or longer stay. Good wifi, AC, washing machine, iron, hairdryer, oven, 2 coffee makers, fridge, utensils – all there. As a solo traveler I was very pleased.
What could be improved: There is no TV which I don't care about.
Elevator was mentioned many times here. I wasn't shocked because as a local I've seen worse.
Walls are thin – could hear people talking in the next apartment but after a night out to the local bars I didn't hear them much.Good value for money – Lakmin from United Arab Emirates – April 16, 2025 (8/10)

Paper-thin walls – Paulius from Lithuania – April 13, 2025 (7/10)
Has everything that you might need
What could be improved: Paper-thin wallsWonderful – Alena from Belarus – March 26, 2025 (9/10)
It was easy to collect the keys, but the instructions arrived way too late. The rooms are very nice if you get the internal view. For an external view it might be too loud. You will find everything you need in the flat!
What could be improved: The building itself looks terrible, the elevator is quite scary, and someone continues to make it stop on the 3rd floor so it won't move anywhere elseA satisfying stay in Vilnius – Soogeun from South Korea – March 20, 2025 (9/10)
It was the first time in my life seeing an elevator like this, and at first, I was too scared to use it.
I haven’t signed up for life insurance yet, so I couldn’t risk dying like that. But after seeing other guests use it, I gathered some courage and gave it a try. It made some rattling noises, but overall, it was fine.
There was a store called IKI right below the building, which was really convenient for buying things as needed. The location was also great—it was within walking distance to the Old Town and Užupis, and it was close to the central station, which made getting to Trakai Castle easy.
(Also, for catching a FLIX bus, it was just about a 5-minute walk.)
What could be improved: Unfortunately, the air conditioner was leaking water, so I couldn’t use it. It might be good to check the AC condition in other rooms as well.
Regarding the self-check-in process, there was some confusion.
It would be much clearer if you provided a video or photos in advance as instructions.
For example, the place I’m currently staying at in Romania does this—they take photos & videos and share them via WhatsApp. I think it's something worth considering.Very Good – Edwin from Australia – March 8, 2025 (8/10)
Well equipped and comfy studio!
What could be improved: Studio was squeezy but doable for single person stay. Unfortunately stay coincided with a huge group booking which was very very noisy, disruptive and dirty for the 2 nights they were there.Wonderful – Audrone from Greece – March 6, 2025 (9/10)
Very clean and nice!
What could be improved: The elevator. I was afraid to use itGood – Wen-yi from Netherlands – January 13, 2025 (8/10)
The whole room is small but clean.
What could be improved: The room is very comfortable, but the building itself is a bit old and looks a bit scary. BTW There are no knives in the kitchen.
