Okay, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Hidden Submarine, I thought it was some kind of gimmicky theme hotel that would be all flash and no substance. Boy, was I wrong. This place is actually one of those rare finds that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special, the kind of spot you almost don’t want to tell people about because you’re afraid it’ll get too crowded.

The whole submarine concept isn’t cheesy at all – it’s done with this really thoughtful attention to detail that makes you realize someone actually cared about creating an experience here. The rooms have these porthole-style windows (well, most of them do), and honestly, the way they’ve designed the lighting makes you feel like you’re in this cozy underwater world without being claustrophobic about it. I mean, I was worried about that going in, but the spaces actually feel surprisingly open. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but what it does, it does really well. You know what impressed me most? The staff actually knows guests’ names by the second day, which you just don’t see much anymore, even at places with way more stars.

What really sets it apart is all these little touches that show someone’s been thinking about what travelers actually need. The check-in was smooth (no weird upselling or mandatory resort fees), and they’ve got this great common area that feels like a ship’s galley where people actually hang out and chat – not one of those sterile lobby spaces everyone walks through quickly. The soundproofing is surprisingly good too, which matters because the place does get lively in the evenings. I stayed during what seemed like a busy period, and you’d never know it once you were in your room. Parking was straightforward, and they’ve got this little market area where you can grab decent coffee and snacks without having to venture out first thing in the morning. Look, it’s not going to have all the bells and whistles of a five-star place, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want – somewhere that focuses on doing the basics really, really well, with enough personality to make it memorable. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a discovery rather than just another hotel room, this is it.

Pro-active host with clear instructions and directions on how to access the apartment. Would recommend this apartment for a stay in Vilnius.
