You know what really surprised me about Heart of OLD TOWN – St. Ann apartment? It’s actually tucked right on Bernardinų gatvė, which honestly couldn’t be more perfect if you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re living in medieval Vilnius rather than just visiting it. I mean, you step out the door and you’re literally surrounded by those gorgeous baroque buildings and cobblestone streets that make Old Town so magical – but without that touristy hotel lobby feeling, if that makes sense.

The apartment itself has this really authentic vibe that I wasn’t expecting from the photos. It’s got those high ceilings and original details you’d hope for in a historic building, but someone clearly put thought into making it actually comfortable for modern travelers. The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped (I made coffee every morning instead of hunting for cafés, which saved me a fortune), and the bed was legitimately comfortable – not one of those rock-hard European mattresses that leave you aching. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stayed at night, even though you’re right in the heart of everything. I guess being on Bernardinų rather than one of the main drags like Pilies gatvė makes all the difference.

Here’s the thing though – and this is why that 9.8 rating actually makes sense – it’s the little details that really won me over. The host left proper local recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward this tiny bakery around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise, and honestly, those pastries became my daily ritual. Plus, you’re literally a two-minute walk from St. Anne’s Church (hence the name, I’m guessing), and maybe five minutes from the main cathedral square. But what I loved most was coming back in the evenings when the day-trippers had cleared out – suddenly you’ve got these ancient streets pretty much to yourself, and you can hear your footsteps echoing off the old walls. It sounds dramatic, but it’s genuinely atmospheric in a way that made me feel like I’d discovered something special rather than just booked another place to sleep. For a 3-star spot, it punches way above its weight class, and I’d honestly choose it again over some fancy hotel outside the Old Town walls.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Vilnius at least two months ahead for major events like cultural festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near historic attractions.

  A charming old building full of character which has been sympathetically renovated to create a very comfortable and well-equipped apartment. The location is just perfect – within walking distance of the station and all the old town sights yet tucked away in a pretty and quiet courtyard. Communication with the host was excellent.

  The building this apartment is at is from the 15th century. Located between iconic Pilies st and famous St Annes church, you couldn't find a better spot to stay in Vilnius old town. With a curved ceiling, meter thick walls and open original bricks this apartment is breathing history. Its renovated with taste and attention to detail to give ancient vibes. Very comfortable too.
