No awkward lobby waiting, no grumpy night clerk – just grab your key and head up. The underground parking garage is a real lifesaver too, especially if you’re driving in the area. I’ve stayed at fancier hotels where you’re circling blocks looking for street parking or paying through the nose for valet.

What really got me though was how thoughtfully everything’s set up. The air conditioning actually works properly – and I say this as someone who’s suffered through way too many European summers in stuffy hotel rooms. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re designed smart, with little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. Like, there are enough outlets near the bed, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the blackout curtains actually block light (revolutionary concept, right?). It’s that kind of place where you realize they’ve figured out all the little annoyances that usually drive you crazy and just… fixed them. The whole vibe is relaxed and unfussy – you’re not paying for marble lobbies or white-glove service, but everything works exactly like it should.
