Grand Hotel Vilnius, Curio Collection by Hilton Overview
You know what struck me first about Grand Hotel Vilnius, Curio Collection by Hilton? It’s this gorgeous Neo-Gothic building that somehow manages to feel both grand and welcoming at the same time. I mean, you’re walking up to what looks like it could be a cathedral, but then the doorman greets you with this genuine smile that immediately puts you at ease.
The lobby honestly took my breath away – there’s this soaring ceiling with intricate stonework that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a piece of Lithuanian history. But here’s the thing that really impressed me: they’ve managed to blend all that old-world architecture with seriously comfortable modern touches. The rooms are spacious (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in historic European hotels), and the beds are absolutely divine. I actually had one of the best night’s sleeps I’ve had in months there. The bathrooms are marble-clad and feel properly luxurious, though I’ll admit the lighting took me a minute to figure out – there are quite a few switches to navigate.
What really sets this place apart is how it sits right in the heart of Vilnius’ Old Town. You can literally walk out the front door and be surrounded by cobblestone streets and medieval architecture. The Cathedral Square is just a few minutes’ stroll away, and you’re perfectly positioned to explore all those winding little streets without feeling like you need to plan your whole day around getting back to the hotel. I loved being able to duck back for an afternoon rest between sightseeing sessions. The staff – and this might sound like I’m exaggerating but I’m not – genuinely seem to know everything about the city. They steered me toward this incredible little amber shop tucked away on a side street that I never would have found on my own. The concierge also gave me the heads up about which restaurants to book ahead (trust me, you’ll want reservations at the good spots). Check-in was smooth, though it can get a bit busy in the lobby during peak tourist season – I was there in summer and there was definitely a buzz of activity. The 9.1 rating really shows, honestly. You feel like you’re staying somewhere special without all the stuffiness that sometimes comes with five-star hotels. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself lingering in the lobby with a coffee, just soaking in the atmosphere.

I really didn't want to stay in this hotel, but most 5 star hotels were fully booked in Vilnius for the dates I needed so decided to bite the bullet and pick Grant Hotel Vilnius. I have to say, that my views on this hotel changed very quickly, I think the pictures on booking.com doesn't do the justice for this hotel, the decor in those pictures inside the rooms looks dated, but it really isn't. The lobby is fantastic, the location is fantastic, the service is fantastic, the staff are fantastic, the restaurant is super fantastic, the rooms are fantastic and the bed is super comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay here and my wife has already asked me to stay here again when we visit Vilnius again, instead of staying in our usual favourite hotel in Vilnius.

The best hotel we ever been! Service was fantastic and the facilities were also top notch! The view from the balcony was exactly what we wanted. Massive thumbs up for the honest advertising! Shame about the jacuzzi being under maintenance during our stay, but otherwise this was one of our best hotel experiences!
