Gilužio Apartments Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Gilužio Apartments, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. It’s tucked away on Литва street in this quieter residential area that honestly feels more like where locals actually live rather than where tourists usually end up. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it special.
The thing about this place is that it sits in this sweet spot between Vilnius’s Old Town charm and the more practical side of the city. You’re actually in a neighborhood where you’ll hear Lithuanian being spoken more than English, which I mean – isn’t that what you want when you’re trying to get a real feel for a place? There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that becomes your morning ritual, and the tram connections are surprisingly solid once you figure out the system (give yourself a day to get the hang of it). The apartments themselves are what I’d call “functional with character” – they’ve got that Eastern European apartment vibe but someone clearly put thought into making them work for travelers. The kitchens are actually usable, not just decorative, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase the whole time.
What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night. During the day, you’ve got normal city sounds – people heading to work, the occasional tram rumbling by – but evenings settle into this peaceful rhythm that you just don’t get in the tourist-heavy areas. The building itself has that solid construction feel that makes you sleep well, if that makes sense. Parking was way easier than I expected too, which anyone who’s driven in European city centers will appreciate. The 8.1 rating makes total sense to me because this isn’t trying to be luxury – it’s trying to be a good place to stay that doesn’t break the bank, and it succeeds at that. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that overly complicated key card nonsense. I’d definitely consider staying here again, especially if I wanted to experience Vilnius more like someone who lives there rather than just passing through. It’s particularly good if you’re planning to stay more than just a night or two and want somewhere that feels less like a hotel room and more like a temporary home base.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Vilnius through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s baroque heritage and cultural attractions.

What could be improved: Nieco wąskie i zbyt miękkie łóżko, ale to indywidualne preferencjeButui trūksta švaros! – Sonata from Lithuania – June 8, 2025 (5/10)
What could be improved: Bute labai trūko švaros. Exceptional – Modestas from Lithuania – June 5, 2025 (10/10)
Very Good – Gintare from Iceland – April 29, 2025 (8/10)
