When I first walked up to Fortuna Hostel on Liepkalnio street, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a four-star hostel — but this place quickly proved it’s something special. The fact that they have parking available on-site is huge too, especially in this part of the city where finding a spot can be a real headache.

The whole setup here is pretty clever — they’ve managed to blend hostel affordability with four-star comfort, which isn’t easy to pull off. My room was clean and well-thought-out, with enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days. The staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and I noticed quite a few repeat guests during my stay, which always tells you something about a place.

The Neighborhood Experience

Staying in Rasos means you get to experience Vilnius like a local rather than just another tourist. I’d walk down to the nearby market in the mornings, grab coffee from this little place around the corner that barely had a sign, and felt like I was discovering the real city. The Old Town is close enough for easy exploring, but you’re also positioned perfectly for day trips or just wandering the less touristy parts of the capital. Evening walks back to the hostel became one of my favorite parts of the day — the streets are well-lit and safe, and there’s something peaceful about this particular corner of the city.

  Lovely room, comfortable single bed. Nice staff, cheap coffee. Heritage building close to railway and bus stations. Very clean bathroom, big kitchen. Excellent for a short stay.
