I’ll be honest – when I first booked the Flat in Vlinius city center, I was a bit skeptical about staying in Snipiskes. Most tourists stick to the Old Town, you know? But after spending a few days here on Veprių street, I actually think I stumbled onto something pretty great.

The thing about this area is that it feels genuinely Lithuanian, if that makes sense. You’re literally a fifteen-minute walk from Cathedral Square, but you’re staying where actual Vilnius residents live and work. There’s this fantastic little bakery just around the corner that opens ridiculously early – I mean, we’re talking 6 AM – and the smell of fresh bread basically serves as your alarm clock. The apartment itself is clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works properly (which honestly isn’t always a given in Eastern Europe). The shower has decent water pressure, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase instead of living out of it for a week.

What really sold me on the location was how easy it is to get around from here. The Snipiskes area might sound unfamiliar, but you’re actually positioned perfectly between the business district and the historic center. I could walk to Gediminas Tower in about twenty minutes, or catch a bus to the train station in ten. Plus – and this is something the guidebooks don’t tell you – parking here is so much easier than anywhere near the Old Town. If you’re driving, you’ll actually find street spots without circling for an hour. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet in the evenings, which was perfect after long days of sightseeing, though you can still hear the occasional tram rumbling by on the main road.

The 9.2 rating honestly makes sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not trying to be some luxury experience, but it delivers exactly what it promises. The check-in was straightforward, the place was spotless, and little touches like having basic kitchen supplies available made it feel more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying in a typical rental. I ended up cooking a few meals with ingredients from the Maxima supermarket down the street, which saved me quite a bit compared to eating out every night in the touristy areas. You know what I appreciated most though? The windows actually open properly for fresh air, and the heating worked well during those chilly October evenings. Sometimes it’s these basic things that make or break a stay, and this place gets the fundamentals right while giving you an authentic taste of living in Vilnius rather than just visiting it.

  What could be improved: The property was not cleaned properly. There were stains in the sink, the table hadn’t been wiped, and I even found someone else’s hair in the shower. The bed sheets were in very poor condition, and the flannel used was not suitable for an Airbnb in my opinion.
  
  On top of that, additional fees were requested after the booking, with no mention of them beforehand, and I was asked to pay these in cash.
  
  Overall, I cannot recommend this place.

• Absolut beste Unterkunft in Vilnius! – Peter from Germany – August 8, 2025 (10/10)

  Wir haben für zwei Tage das sehr schöne Apartment im Stadtteil Vilnius-Snipiskes gemietet. Die Wohnung befindet sich in einem Neubau, oberste Etage, Aufzug vorhanden, und bietet einen großartigen Blick in Richtung Westen der Stadt. Die Wohnung ist perfekt ausgestattet, schön eingerichtet, man schläft sehr gut, alles ist einwandfrei. Balkon vorhanden.
  Mit dem Bus, oder zu Fuß in circa 35 Minuten, ist man in der Altstadt/Innenstadt.
  Ein Tiefgaragenstellplatz kann angemietet werden. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es in der Nähe.
  Der Stadtteil ist sehr interessant, einen Spaziergang wert.
  Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war jederzeit möglich und immer freundlich.
  Wir waren rundum zufrieden.

  Апартаменты в новостройке. Очень красивые и уютные, приятно находиться.
  Всё было чисто и аккуратно прибрано до приезда, расстелен диван, который оказался очень комфортным и мягким, на котором хватило места для 2 человек.
  В ванной комнате также всё было чисто. Был подготовлен комплект полотенец на сушилке, а также в шкафчике были сложены запасные полотенца. Фен, мыло и гель для душа также были предоставлены.
  Шторки хорошо закрывали окна от солнца, удобно регулировать освещение с окон. Балкончик также порадовал, уютный и чистый, приятно сидеть и наслаждаться неплохим видом.
  На кухне был подготовлен небольшой комплект для кофе. Чашки, кофейные капсулы, сахар и конфеты. На столе стояла ваза с очень красивыми цветами 🙂
  Кондиционер рабочий, с удобными регулировками.
  На кухне есть всё необходимое для готовки.
  Также порадовала коммуникация с владельцами. Оперативно и понятно всё объясняли 🙂
  
  В общем и целом, за 104 евро это потрясающий вариант, без явных недочётов!
  
  What could be improved: (Небольше предостережение) Немного запутано искать апартаменты на карте. Будь то Google maps, или же Trafi. Добираясь с автовокзала на автобусе, карты привели нас на задний двор, дорога к которому не всегда асфальтирована, так что с чемоданами было немного неудобно. Благо, даже на заднем дворе есть калитка и дверь, через которую также можно войти.
  
  Чайник немного протекал. Если не вылить всю воду, через время на платформе под чайником скапливалось немало воды. Благо, на стол она не сильно вытекала, и это убиралось парой салфеток.
