You’re basically a 10-minute walk from the Old Town’s cobblestone maze, but here’s the thing – you’re also surrounded by where actual locals hang out. There’s this fantastic coffee roastery called Caffeine just around the corner that most tourists never find, and honestly, the morning espresso there became part of my daily ritual. The apartments are on the first floor, which in European terms means one flight up – something I wish I’d known when I arrived with a heavy suitcase and no elevator in sight.

What really got me about EVA was how they’ve managed to feel boutique without being pretentious about it. The spaces are clean-lined and modern, but not in that sterile way where you’re afraid to touch anything. My apartment had these huge windows that actually opened (thank god, because Vilnius summers can get surprisingly warm), and the light that poured in during those long Baltic summer evenings was just… well, it made me understand why people rave about Nordic design. The kitchen was compact but actually functional – I mean, I could cook a proper meal, not just reheat leftovers. And the bathroom? Look, I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier places where the shower was basically unusable, but here the water pressure was solid and everything worked like it should.

The neighborhood buzz is what really sold me though. Naugarduko street has this lived-in energy that you don’t get in the tourist quarters – there’s a small grocery store two doors down where the owner started recognizing me by day three, and in the evenings you’ll hear conversations spilling out from the local bars mixing Lithuanian with snippets of Russian and English. It’s not loud enough to keep you awake (the windows are surprisingly good at blocking street noise), but just enough to remind you that you’re somewhere real. During the week it’s pretty mellow, but weekends definitely bring more energy to the area – nothing crazy, just people actually living their lives.

I suppose if I had to nitpick, the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty in the bedroom corner farthest from the router, and the building entrance is easy to miss if you’re not paying attention – it’s more residential-looking than hotel-ish. But honestly, for the price point and that 9.5 rating (which now makes total sense), EVA delivers something that a lot of fancier places miss: it feels like you’re staying somewhere authentic rather than just passing through. If you want to experience Vilnius like someone who actually lives there, rather than just checking monuments off a list, this is your spot.
