This three-star hotel sits right in the heart of Vilnius Old Town, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — I mean, you’re literally surrounded by cobblestone streets and medieval architecture. The building itself has this understated charm that fits perfectly with the historic neighborhood, nothing flashy but definitely welcoming.

The Heart of Old Town

Here’s what I love about staying here — you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing in Old Town within minutes. The Gate of Dawn (Aušros Vartai) is practically next door, which is kind of amazing when you think about it. You know what’s great? In the morning, you can grab coffee and wander the quiet streets before the tour groups arrive. The narrow medieval lanes around the hotel are perfect for those early morning photo walks, and there’s something magical about having this UNESCO World Heritage area almost to yourself.

Your Room and Comfort

The rooms at Domus Maria are what I’d call “thoughtfully simple” — clean, comfortable, and designed with actual travelers in mind rather than Instagram posts. Each room feels cozy without being cramped, and the beds are genuinely comfortable (which matters more than fancy amenities, honestly). What struck me was how quiet it stays despite being in the city center — the thick walls of these old buildings really do their job. The bathrooms are modern and well-maintained, plus you get all the basics you need without unnecessary frills.

Morning Fuel and Practical Perks

The buffet breakfast here is actually quite good — not just continental basics but proper fuel for a day of exploring. They’ve got local touches mixed with international options, so you can try some Lithuanian specialties or stick with what you know. One thing that really sets this place apart is the private parking — if you’re driving in Vilnius, you’ll appreciate not having to hunt for street spots in Old Town. It’s one of those details that makes your stay genuinely easier rather than just looking good on paper.

There’s a reason people keep coming back to this place — the repeat guest rate here is notably higher than most hotels I’ve stayed at. I think it comes down to that rare combination of prime location, solid comfort, and reasonable pricing that actually delivers on its promises. Couples especially seem to fall for this spot (they rate the location 9.8 out of 10), and I can see why — there’s something romantic about staying in the historic heart of the city. You’re not paying five-star prices, but you’re getting an experience that feels much more valuable than the cost suggests.

  Highly recommend Domus Maria. It has some exceptional atmosphere of peace and ambient silence, probably due to being a former monastery premises. The location is at the Gates of Dawn, right at the beginning of the Old Town, but no noise at all comes from the busy street. About 10 min walk from the bus/ train station. Very clean and comfortable rooms, nice and helpful staff. We had a nice (prepacked) breakfast at the very atmospheric former refectory. Really loved everything!

  I loved the location of the hotel. I was there on a personal pilgrimage with my older mother to the Gate of Dawn and it was just a few minutes away. It was also wonderful to take the bus 88 from the airport which took only 18 minutes and literally stopped on the outside of the gate. It costs also only .90 cents. The woman at the reception who was there the whole week was so helpful and lovely and always acknowledged us. I also appreciate that she went in the back to find yet another umbrella for us on a very rainy day. We also had pleasant conversations with the staff in the breakfast room and the breakfast was good as well. I would definitely come back to the hotel.

  This hotel is a little gem in the heart of a beautiful city. It is located in the old city within walking distance to all that the city has to offer and just far enough away to be quiet. The building itself has an amazing history and you do get to experience that energy in it's modern form as a hotel. Staff were great, nothing was a problem and they were always helpful day and night. The rooms were definitely more than fine for us and we would recommend this hotel. Plus with this hotel having lots of charm and history it was a great place to stay that is perfectly matched for a city as beautiful as Vilnius. If I ever get the chance to get back to Vilnius this hotel will be my choice again.

  The location is very central, in the middle of the Old Town of Vilnius. The building is atmospheric (ancient monastery), but well adapted to the modern needs. The room was huge and comfy and very quiet.

  The hotel is in a very convenient location (near the bus stop, train and bus stations, in the old town), surrounded by many cafes, bars, attractions and unique heritage. The hotel is away from the main roads, so the environment is quiet.
