I spent way too much time out there with morning coffee, watching locals head to work while tourists were still figuring out their maps. The gramophone isn’t just decoration either; they actually have a decent vinyl collection, though I’ll admit I mostly ended up using the Netflix after long days exploring. What really impressed me was how everything felt intentional without being precious – the tatami-style flooring, the low furniture, even the way the lighting works. It’s like someone who really understands Japanese design principles adapted them for a Lithuanian winter, if that makes sense.

The location is pretty much perfect for Old Town exploration. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from Cathedral Square, and Pilies street with all its amber shops and restaurants is right there. But here’s the thing locals know – Aukštaičių street itself has some fantastic little spots that most tourists miss. There’s this tiny bakery just down the hill that opens ridiculously early, and honestly, their ruginis duona beats anything you’ll find on the main drag. Parking can be tricky around here (welcome to Old Town Vilnius), but the host provides really clear instructions, and there’s actually decent public parking about five minutes away near the Gediminas Tower funicular. The 9.6 rating doesn’t surprise me at all – it’s that rare place where the unusual concept actually delivers on the experience, and you can tell someone put real thought into making guests comfortable rather than just creating Instagram moments.
